Over Her Dentist's Knee - Annika Stout

    Chapter One

Her hands wouldn’t stop sweating and her heart was racing. Here she was, sitting in the waiting room of the dentist's office, feeling like a pig waiting to be slaughtered.

Stop being so dramatic Victoria, she told herself. This was ridiculous. She was ridiculous.

She was a tough police officer able to put up with any kind of stressful or dangerous situation she was thrown into. She graduated at the top of the academy. Drug busts, bar fights, or fatal car accidents, Victoria kept her shit together. Stayed calm, focused, and professional.

    But not now.

Now, she was almost hyperventilating, wishing she would have asked her Mom to accompany her to the dentist and hold her hand as if she was eight years old, not twenty-eight.

And worst of all, they made her wait. Every now and then she pulled out her phone, watching the minutes pass by. It was already thirty minutes past her appointment. The background noises didn’t calm her down either. On the contrary. Victoria heard the drilling, the suctioning, the spraying of water, and the mumbling of two people torturing another patient.

Why can’t they make dentist offices sound tight? she wondered.

Forty-five minutes had passed when the dentist’s assistant came to apologize, telling her it wouldn’t be much longer.

I’m sorry, can I use your washroom please? Victoria asked.

Eating soup right before her appointment had not been the best idea but nervous as she was she couldn’t stomach more than the bowl of chicken soup with a handful of noodles in it.

Half a liter of soup lighter, she felt a bit better in the uncomfortable chair of the waiting room. At least she wouldn’t pee herself during her procedure.

Victoria lost the corner tooth during a soccer match a couple of months ago. The ball smacked her face, splitting her lip open and knocking out a tooth. The moment it happened, she didn’t care too much, because her team had just won the final game of the season and they were moving up a league because of it. But at the dentist’s office the following day, her head was spinning when they explained the implant procedure to her. She only had two options, getting an implant or keeping her tooth gap. And even though she was a self-confident person, she didn’t want to run around for the rest of her life with a missing corner tooth. So back she was now, four months later, to have the screw of the implant operated into her jaw.

It wasn’t her regular dentist doing the procedure. It was a surgeon, who specialized in terrifying things such as removing wisdom teeth and inserting implants.

    Dr. Arthur Crutchfield.

    Dr. Arthur Crutchfield?

She could already imagine what he looked like. Old, short, chubby, with tiny dark hamster eyes and dried-up white saliva in the corner of his lips.

Suddenly a door opened and the voices were getting louder. The young man passing her pressed a frozen pack against his cheek but he looked genuinely happy. Of course, he was happy, he was out. He had survived. He escaped the wolf.

Dear God of the Dentists, please let me survive this. I promise, I will floss my teeth daily from now-

Victoria Córdova? The dental assistant interrupted her prayer, pronouncing her last name like the cake that was named after a Russian ballet dancer. It was Kaw-duh-buh, not Cor-doughva. Her Spanish roots were important to her.

On a normal day, Victoria would have corrected her, but not today. Why upset someone by correcting them if your life depended on them?

She could hear her own blood rushing through her ears as she followed the friendly blond assistant to the surgery room.

The surgeon was sitting on the white round swivel stool looking up at Victoria when she entered. His face mask was pulled down, showing his friendly smile, his bright eyes sparkling.

    Victoria stalled in surprise.

Dr. Arthur Crutchfield had no tiny hamster eyes. Neither was he short or fat or had dried-up saliva on his lips.

Dr. Arthur Crutchfield looked hot. Like steaming hot. Like rip my clothes off and make love to me hot.

Why does he need to look so gorgeous? she thought.

This was even worse, having a man who should model bathing suits, turn out to be her surgeon. A man like him should explore the insides of her vagina, not of her mouth. If anything should be in her mouth, it would be his dick, not his hands.

Victoria, are you feeling okay? he asked.

And of course, even his voice gave her goosebumps. Dark and smooth with a hint of vibration.

Yes. No. I don’t know. This is just the worst. Please don’t kill me! I’m really scared, she answered.

Dr. Crutchfield’s smile grew even wider.

Yes, I can see that but don’t worry, it’ll be quick and not worse than pulling a tooth. I promise I’ll be as gentle as I can, he said.

Victoria didn’t believe a word but what other options did she have than sitting down in the examining chair he pointed to?

The room was air-conditioned to the point that she felt cold. She was thankful for the assistant to be reading her mind and covering her with a blue disposable medical gown. But she only felt better as Dr. Crutchfield put his hand reassuringly on her shoulder. His touch warmed up every limb of her body and her heartbeat slowed down a little bit.

Taking deep breaths, she watched Dr. Crutchfield put on his face mask and sterile gloves.

How did you lose your tooth? he asked.

Probably he wasn’t really interested, just making small talk to distract her. But any kind of distraction was welcome to her at this point.

I got a soccer ball in the face, she answered smiling, remembering the amazing match that made them move up a league.

Dr. Crutchfield pulled a painful face.

You watched your boyfriend play soccer and got hit in the face? he asked.

Victoria laughed out loud. This was so typical for men. Assuming that she had watched a soccer game. They weren’t even able to imagine that maybe she played soccer herself. That women played soccer still seemed to be such a strange thing to most people. But it shouldn’t be a surprise to her. Somehow the best-looking men were always the biggest machistas.

It might be hard for you to believe this because you’re a man but there are in fact women playing soccer as well Dr. Crutchfield, she answered.

There was a sparkle in the dentist's eyes but because of his mask, Victoria couldn’t really see his full reaction.

Open wide, he instructed and the butterflies in her belly stirred up all over again.

She closed her eyes as Dr. Crutchfield
