God Heal Our Land: 21 Days of Refreshing
()
About this ebook
"Canada could become the world leader in the spiritual dimension if it had a spiritual awakening and revival" were some of the words of Billy Graham in 1978.
Canada, which has a Christian origin, has since gone further and further away from what God designed it to be at its inception. This country has a call to bring healing to the nations, but I believe God wants to first heal Canada!
This book features the writings of some of the best Christian leaders and will take you on a beautiful journey back to Canada's Christian history, give you a glimpse of Canada's most recent darkest period during COVID-19, and then conclude with a 21-day journey of spiritual renewal. It is my prayer that you encounter the Lord Himself as you feast and adventure through this book.

God Heal Our Land - Solomon Ikhuiwu
PSALM 72
English Standard Version
Give the king your justice, O God,
and your righteousness to the royal son!
May he judge your people with righteousness,
and your poor with justice!
Let the mountains bear prosperity for the people,
and the hills, in righteousness!
May he defend the cause of the poor of the people,
give deliverance to the children of the needy,
and crush the oppressor!
May they fear you while the sun endures,
and as long as the moon, throughout all generations!
May he be like rain that falls on the mown grass,
like showers that water the earth!
In his days may the righteous flourish,
and peace abound, till the moon be no more!
May he have dominion from sea to sea,
and from the River to the ends of the earth!
May desert tribes bow down before him,
and his enemies lick the dust!
May the kings of Tarshish and of the coastlands
render him tribute;
may the kings of Sheba and Seba
bring gifts!
May all kings fall down before him,
all nations serve him!
For he delivers the needy when he calls,
the poor and him who has no helper.
He has pity on the weak and the needy,
and saves the lives of the needy.
From oppression and violence he redeems their life,
and precious is their blood in his sight.
Long may he live;
may gold of Sheba be given to him!
May prayer be made for him continually,
and blessings invoked for him all the day!
May there be abundance of grain in the land;
on the tops of the mountains may it wave;
may its fruit be like Lebanon;
and may people blossom in the cities
like the grass of the field!
May his name endure forever,
his fame continue as long as the sun!
May people be blessed in him,
all nations call him blessed!
Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,
who alone does wondrous things.
Blessed be his glorious name forever;
may the whole earth be filled with his glory!
Amen and Amen!

INTRODUCTION
by Solomon Ikhuiwu
July 1st, 2023 marked a significant moment in the history of Hamilton, Ontario. The city witnessed a profound event at the Tim Hortons field stadium that brought about a surge of spiritual renewal. Thousands of individuals from various places converged at the stadium, seeking a transformative shift, hungry for revival, and embracing the message from 2 Chronicles 7:14 - "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
This spiritual awakening was set in motion after my 2022 mayoral campaign, which highlighted the limitations of politics in addressing the city's deep-seated needs. This realization gave birth to the God Heal Our Land vision, culminating in the massive prayer gathering at the stadium to honour God and implore His redemptive plan not just for Hamilton but for a broader scope. The event united Christians from diverse backgrounds and denominations in collective prayer and worship, all in pursuit of a deeper connection with God.
In the lead-up to this, Hamilton's churches hosted a delegation from the Asbury University Revival, which had taken place earlier in the year. This revival, sparked by students engaging in an extended worship service, had garnered immense attention with 50-70,000 attendees converging on a town of 5,000 in Wilmore, Kentucky. This event catalyzed a hunger for revival and healing among Christians in different parts of Canada, setting the stage for the subsequent gathering of God Heal Our Land.
Today, few Canadians are active Christians, and Bible study and church attendance have notably dropped. According to a study conducted by the Canadian Bible Forum, there has been a 47% decline in both Bible reading and church attendance in Canada since 1996. Another separate study revealed that the majority of Canadians do not identify as born again
. In light of this, we believe Canada is in a divine setup for revival. Visionary figures like Billy Graham and Reinhard Bonnke prophesied a spiritual awakening for Canada.
With Canada having the spiritual calling to bring healing to the nations, there's a prevailing belief that healing must begin at home before Canada can contribute healing to the world. I find great resonance in the lines of the Canadian national anthem which implores, "God Keep Our Land, make it Glorious and Free". This timeless prayer has been recited countless times, and I am convinced that our present circumstances are aligned divinely to witness a sequence of answered prayers. Through God's bestowed strategies, a process of restoration can be set in motion, ultimately leading to the healing of our nation and then others.
During the COVID-19 lockdowns, a multitude of individuals from various cities across the globe found themselves glued to their television screens almost daily, witnessing some of the most distressing and alarming news coverage ever aired. The broadcasts were rife with accounts of losses, fatalities, and healthcare facilities pushed beyond their limits. World leaders, including presidents, prime ministers, and mayors, frequently announced states of emergency in response. This unprecedented global pandemic acted as a catalyst, prompting a multitude of people to humble themselves and implore the divine intervention of the Lord for assistance.
In my belief, a potent spiritual rejuvenation has been set in motion as a result. Jesus, in His unwavering capacity for healing, restoration, revival, salvation, and awakening, remains fully engaged. For those still grappling with the aftermath of the pandemic and the recent upheavals that have shaken the world, I hold the conviction that Jesus has orchestrated a remarkable resurgence even though the pandemic was driven by death and destruction.
Amidst the tempestuous storms we face, it's important to remember that the strength of Jesus surpasses any adversity. While our battles might seem immense, they are dwarfed by the magnitude of Jesus' might. Although our faith may waver at times, we find assurance in the unshakeable faith of our Savior who resides within us. His power transcends every trial we encounter.
With a resilient faith, I am eager to shift our attention to a profound 21-day devotional. This compilation is a treasure trove of authentic life experiences drawn from these past years of global intense turmoil. Accompanied by authors guided by the Holy Spirit, these narratives offer insight into their journeys. They have navigated through some of these challenges and have overcome them. This is not just about their story but will resonate with many others who may have or may be experiencing some of the same challenges even now. Our hope is to equip you, inspire you, and support you through your journey.
The purpose of this devotional is threefold:
● to help give you some understanding of Canada’s rich Christian history,
● to address a myriad of facets affected
