About this ebook

My alpha, along with my father, had planned my heat run oh, so carefully. The only mistake they made was in the choice of my future mate.

Now he's dead and I'm on the run, a fugitive from pack justice. But my heat cycle is attracting unwanted attention, especially
from a pair of notorious rogue wolf-shifters.

The Smith brothers. They've claimed a territory larger than any pack has in history, but neither of them has ever taken a mate. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to remain under their protection. But will they still want me once the frenzied lust of the heat run has worn off?

Runaway Wolf is a 7,000-word paranormal erotica short story containing scenes with multiple partners. Though it is a sequel to "Heat Run" and "Chasing Owen," it details the adventures of a different group of wolf-shifters and can be read as a stand-alone.

    About Kasey Ho

The ‘heat run’ is a tradition nearly as old as my kind, a distant link to the days when we were much more closely related to true wolves. Our pack had recently experienced a disaster that had involved the daughter of the alpha—during her ceremony, though she had been promised to the son of the alpha of a neighboring pack, she had been abducted by several rogues.

Then one of them had claimed her as his mate, causing her to leave our pack forever.

It was true that her twin sister had taken her place in the previously arranged match, but though things had turned out well in that regard, I don’t think our alpha wanted to risk such a humiliation again, by being the subject of such defiance.

So I suppose it wasn’t surprising that he, along with my father, the beta, were determined to take extra precautions when my turn to run came.

The only mistake they had made was in their choice of my future mate.

I could still taste his blood in my mouth as I crawled home. Most of my injuries from the night had healed, so there was no real reason for me to stagger about on all fours, but I had another reason for having trouble walking.

A broken bone could not be mended in a matter of hours.

As I approached my pack’s main dwelling, I realized that there was no way I could go in. I had caught the scent of my would-be mate’s alpha, and even from this distance, I could hear their raised voices.

His pack was demanding revenge for what I had done. And though the alpha of my pack was also my uncle, and despite the fact that I still had evidence of that one major injury to my body, I didn’t know if it would be enough to protect me from their demands.

It was time to run again.

I couldn’t risk going back to the house for anything, not even to sneak in and get myself some clothing or anything else. So I shifted into my wolf form and turned so that the wind was at my back.

By remaining downwind, I would have a good chance of keeping track of their scent while making it difficult for them
