THE OTHER SIDE OF ME: Reflections on Life, Love and Living
()
About this ebook
The Other Side of Me was inspired by the authors recognition of the realities of the ups and downs of life and the pursuit of the heart that so often go unrecognized or ignored. This book is his pursuit of a level of emotional and spiritual integrity through what Is hoped to be an honest self evaluation of what "truly matters". Although my initial inclination was to achieve a sense of order through dividing the book into two sections, 1. Thoughts on Love, and 2. Thoughts on life, I decided against this separation because I realize that life rejects such an orderly division and encompasses both life and love indiscriminately as they show up.
Under no circumstances is this writing meant to substitute my own reality for another's reality but rather to inspire and motivate others to seek the truth of their own reality pulling it from behind the camouflage that life uses to cover or disguise the truth and thus preventing us from being truly free.

THE OTHER SIDE OF ME - Gilbert W.R. Rucker Esq. III
Love Defined
You have defined love for me.
By you I have learned that love must seek its own level, for love uncontrolled will circumvent every obstacle, cover every situation, and color reason in its own light.
Love defies the logic of seasoned discourse and brings rational thought to its knees.
Love must be allowed to run its own course, for love must be the basis and the foundation for the building of life’s structured existence.
Life without love is a poem of profound words that lacks the rhythm necessary to reach the soul of the hearer.
Love out of place cannot be reconciled to proper behavior for love knows nothing but love.
Love is designed to be sought first, to be number one, to be the predecessor of all things to follow.
To be without you is to face an existence devoid of music yet always hearing a rhythmic beat imprisoning me in an ever-present hope of love.
One
To be one
To be united in a cohesiveness of purpose which transcends the bondage of superficial commitments
To jointly feel the excitement of the desired, becoming the expected, manifesting into the realized, all from a shared dream.
To know that the presence of one is required to complete the purpose of the other unifying the us
in a spiritual conspiracy.
Knowing that the intimacy we share brings forth a transfusion of life to one another, sharing our blood so that it becomes indistinguishable between the two, forever binding us as one.
God says that it is not good for man to be alone.
To feel you as less than anything other than a part of me would place me in an abyss of loneliness.
To be an arm’s length away from you is to be separated by a vast space preventing the reunification of my lost rib
with myself, bringing me back into the completeness of my creation.
One.
Contact
What is it in me that so desires the sound of your voice, the touch of your hand, the comfort of your presence?
Why is it that no other sound or touch can produce the calm that you bring to me?
Is this unquenchable thirst the result of having so long lived in a place where water was in such short supply?
It is said that it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all, for love once having been possessed, though now lost, leaves hope.
Feel Me
If you could read my mind it would reveal so much of those things I want to say yet lack the intestinal fortitude to share.
Those thoughts, those unspoken things I hold back in the fear of hurting you or healing me
Hurting you by sharing with you that I am not who I have portrayed myself to be by shattering your expectations of me which were built on your view of my A
side failing to listen to my flip side, the better side
Healing me by sharing with you that I am not who I have portrayed myself to be by shattering your expectations of me which were built on your view of my A
side, failing to listen to my flip side, the better side
That side of me which so desperately craves the truth not just for the purpose of knowing her but for the purpose of living with
