INTRODUCTION

People have been wondering for hundreds of years what tomorrow holds. Some people are frantic with fear, and some think they have it all figured out. Where do we look for the answers to our questions? Certainly not to the feeble wisdom of men. In truth there is only one place that we can go to find out what tomorrow holds: the Bible, the Word of God. The Bible is infallible and inerrant. It provides us with all the answers we need concerning the future. But in order to know, we must study the Bible. There is no other book in the world like that book. 2 Timothy 2:15 tells us, Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Psalm 119:105 states, Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. It is in God’s word that we find out what is next, and what we are to do. If we follow God’s instructions we will never fail. He will walk with us through the good times and the bad. He promises that He will never leave us or forsake us. Because we do not understand everything, we must live every day of our lives by faith.

Hebrews 11:6 states, Without faith, it is impossible to please God, for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and a Rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Everything is hinged on faith beginning with our eternal salvation, Ephesians 2:8–9 states, For by grace are ye saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast. Faith is very simply taking God at His word. Believing that He will do what He says He will do. It is impossible for God to lie because every word that proceeds out of His mouth is truth. God promises that if we trust in His gospel, He will save us from an eternity in hell. Salvation is the first step of faith that gives the proper understanding of His word. The moment we are saved, we receive the gift of His Holy Spirit to help us understand His word. We cannot know what is next until we are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. God wants to share with His people His plans for the ages. Throughout the Bible, time has been measured by certain people and events.

1-Man’s fall and the promise of a coming Savior

2-The great flood

3-Abraham’s call

4-The birth of Jacob

5-Egyptian bondage and the exodus from Egypt

6-The giving of the law

7-The ascension of David to the throne of Israel

8-The age of the prophets

9-John the Baptist appears

10-Jesus, God’s Lamb appears

11-The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus

12-Jesus’s ascension and promise of His return

It is at this point we will begin our study on WHAT’S NEXT? We must ask of ourselves where are we now according to God’s biblical calendar? According to Scripture, we are now in a period of waiting. We are waiting on the promise of God to be fulfilled, which is the first part of the second coming of Jesus. The second coming will be divided into two parts. The Rapture of the Saints and the actual return of Jesus to the earth."

Chapter I

The Rapture of the Saints

All through the New Testament we are told that Jesus is coming again. God has a plan for
