CHAPTER ONE

The Blessed Cannot be Destroyed

It is written, "And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon fought and his angels and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.  And the great dragon was cast out that old serpent called the devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth and his angels were cast out with him. 

And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength and the kingdom of our God and the power of his Christ for the accuser of our brethren is cast down which accuseth them before our God day and might. Therefore rejoice ye heavens and ye that dwell in them.  Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth he hath but a short time." (Revelation 12: 7 – 10, 12)

Life on this earth is full of uncertainties, calamities, sorrow, pain, and ups and down due to the presence of the dragon but the blessed cannot be destroyed.

Note, the devil has cast out unto the earth instead of any other place because of his dominion and headship of the earth given to him by Adam.

Now, who is the blessed?

The blessed is the child of God. Therefore, since you have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour, you are a child of God. The scripture, therefore, declares, But as many as received him gave he the power to become the sons of God. (John 1: 12)

And since you are a child of God, you are the blessed. It is written, Blessed be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. (Ephesians 1: 3)

So because you are the blessed of God, no matter what the devil and his agents will do against you they cannot destroy you. 

When God delivered Israel out of the land of Egypt to possess Canaan the Promised Land, balak, the then king of Moab which now forms part of the present nation Jordan, decided to destroy them on their way to Canaan.

Note, Moab,ammon and seir which now together form the nation of Jordan, were part of Canaan but that portion of the land of Canaan was given to the descendants of Lot, abraham’s nephew and Esau his great grandson for permanent possession; hence, Moab was not part of the land which was to be possessed by Israel, yet Balak wanted to destroy them; therefore he sent for Balaam, the then most powerful sorcerer, from pathos which is now part of Syria to destroy Israel spiritually by cursing them in order to be able to destroy them physically but because Israel was the blessed of God, Balak couldn’t achieve his aim.

The Good Book proclaims, "And the children of Israel set forward and pitched in the plains of Moab, and Moab was sore aft of the people because they were many: and Moab was distressed because of the children of Israel.  And Balak said unto the elders of Median, Now: shall this company lick up all that is around us as the ox licketh up the grass of the field.
