    Preface

This is a work of fiction. I have never died and experienced the things in this story. However, some of the things in my life apart from the heaven experiences are true. So in that sense this is partly autobiographical although still overall a fictional account.

The heaven experiences are all based on actual eyewitness testimony recorded in Heaven Is Beyond Imagination. Even though the story as a whole, my journey in paradise, is fiction, everything it says about heaven is true based on eyewitness testimony. I have taken upon myself many of the things the eyewitnesses to heaven say about their experiences there as I reported in my previous nonfiction book Heaven Is Beyond Imagination. So that part of this story is true although it is not true of me. I have never personally experienced what is in this story but others have.

My hope is that in reading this story that is based on real experiences you will be able to see a picture of heaven to which you can relate. It is told from the point of view of a single individual, me, rather than a collection of separate individuals. Perhaps you can imagine a walk through heaven with me as I make this fictitious journey. If you have lost a loved one, I hope my narrative gives you joy and peace imagining your loved one experiencing the same things, perhaps even you walking with him or her.

I would still encourage you to read what I reported from the others in Heaven Is Beyond Imagination, as you will get a much more complete idea of the alternative views of things in heaven from different people’s perspectives.

I Want To Stroll Over Heaven With You

    by Alan Jackson

If I surveyed all the good things that come to me from above

If I could count all the blessings from the storehouse of love

I’d simply ask for a favor of Him beyond mortal kin

And I’m sure that He’d grant it again

I want to stroll over Heaven with you some glad day

When all our troubles and heartaches are vanished away

Then we’ll enjoy the beauty where all things are new

I want to stroll over Heaven with you

So many places of beauty we long to see here below

But time and treasures have kept us from making plans as you know

But come the morning of the rapture together we’ll stand anew

While I stroll over Heaven with you

I want to stroll over Heaven with you some glad day

When all our troubles and heartaches are vanished away

Then we’ll enjoy the beauty where all things are new

I want to stroll over Heaven with you

I want to stroll over Heaven with you

I awoke early that Friday morning, got out of bed, walked to the window, and looked out on a lovely moonlit spring morning with the trees beginning to bud and wildflowers blooming in the grass, primarily the yellow dandelions and the beautiful but sparse purple henbit. As I looked across the yard, the purple henbit made it look like a purple carpet covering the yard, with occasional yellow buttons attached. There was an orange glow above the eastern horizon that told me dawn would soon be here. Although it was faint twilight I could see the lightly wooded landscape clearly. In fact, I had never seen the yard this clearly early in the morning before. It was as clear and bright as midday and I was amazed.

Three weeks before I had discovered a fuzzy spot in the central vision of my left eye causing distortions and obscurations in my detailed vision. I made an appointment with my optometrist, and she examined my eye saying I had a bubble on my retina that was causing the distortions.

What is causing the bubble, I asked.

Fluid, probably blood, has leaked out, she said.

Then it is like a blood blister?

    Yes.

I guess it would require surgery to drain the fluid.

The retina specialist I am sending you to will probably try external treatments to drain the fluid first. If the bubble breaks, it would cause a hole in your retina.

    "I don’t want a
