    Innocent Criminals - Adnan Mumtaz

    Chapter 1

It was afternoon time. The weather was a little pleasant today, so he planned a city tour. He left the car in the bridge parking lot and started walking on foot on the footpath. He was walking very slowly, his eyes was wandering to the shop windows of the decorated shops of Bridge Street. This market was famous for antiques. All the shops in this small market were filled with antiques from different parts of the world. Strange things were decorated in showcases of the shops windows.

He was not interested in antiques, but he was looking more like interested at the young bodies of the sales girls in the shops.  According to his philosophy, there was nothing rarer in the world than a young girl. As he walked, he suddenly stopped. A very nice looking girl was coming out of a shop. The girl was very beautiful.

Oh, that's a rare find in this market, he muttered.

In the next moment he quickly crossed the street and then as the girl descended the stairs onto the sidewalk he approached her. The girl was alone. Her beauty was radiating from every angle in a bright red skirt. She was carrying a big black handbag in her hand.

Excuse me Miss??? The girl cast a longing glance at his brow and then her lips corner widened with a smile.

Janet Mercy... She said her name in a humming voice.

I'm John Walker. Ms. Mercy, will you accompany me for a few moments?

John Walker requested in a very polite tone.

Oh, sorry, Mr. John Walker, I am in hurry. She replied.

Please only for a few minutes... How could John Walker leave such a beautiful girl so easily?

OK, if you are insisting then let's go. The girl was probably agreeable from the start.

Thanks, Ms. Mercy. Let’s walk and sit in the front cafe. John Walker said in a tone as if Ms. Mercy intended to go with him, have favored his seven ancestors.

And then the two of them walked together into the front cafe. As soon as they entered the cafe, the eyes of almost all the men in the cafe began to fall on Janet Mercy. However, their fellow girl's situations were completely different. They pursed their lips in distaste when they saw Mercy.

They both walked and sat around an empty table. The girl put the handbag on the table. As soon as they both sat down, a waitress quickly came closer to them.

Order please... She asked in a very sweet tone.

Bring a glass of whiskey for me and you? Walker addressed Mercy and asked.

Just bring it for both of us. Mercy answered with a smile. And the waitress bowed her head politely and returned.

Sorry for the insolence, Miss Mercy, you are exceptionally beautiful. As waitress left, John Walker began to spread his net.

Really...? She asked for an answer and John Walker nodded his head in affirmative with a devilish smile on his lips.

Ms. Mercy, perhaps, you are a newcomer in this country? John Walker asked another question.

Yes, you guessed right, I just came today.

Mercy replied looking at him admiringly, which made her feel like she was surprised by Walker's guess.

If your aim is only to have fun of tourism, then believe me you will not find a better companion than me in all this country. John Walker said with a smile.

Thank you, but I didn't come here for sightseeing. Mercy replied and for a moment it seemed as if John Walker's hopes had been dashed, but immediately he was settled up.

It’s okay, my offer is still there. He replied with a brazen manner.

Thank you Mr. Walker, but you asked to accompany you only for a few minutes. Don't go further than this. Mercy replied in a slightly harsh tone. Meanwhile, the waitress kept the dopes of whiskey on the table.

In the pleasure of meeting with you... John Walker collided his glass of whiskey to the other and said. While Mercy smiled a little. They both took a sip and then put their glasses on the table.

What's your job, Mr. Walker? Mercy asked pleasantly.

Only enjoying, the luxuries of life. John Walker replied with a smile.

Oh I see... Mercy grunted and fell silent.

You know, Ms. Mercy that these few moments of accompanying you will be among the most wonderful moments of my life. John Walker whispered romantically and took a sip of whiskey.

I like your personality too, Mr. Walker. replied Mercy with a smile, and a waterfall of happiness flowed down John Walker's face.

Thank you Ms. Mercy, these few words of yours are a treasure of joy for Me. replied John Walker.

In the second moment, she was badly shocked. Her eyes were fixed on the gate of the cafe; John Walker also reflexively looked at the door. A charming young man was entering the cafe. But his eyes may not have fallen on them yet. Because they were sitting in the extreme left corner of the cafe.

Mr. Walker! Can you help me? Mercy asked John Walker while bowing slightly towards him with a frightened expression. Her tone was full of pleading.

Yes for sure, it would be proud for me to become a helping hand for you. How could John Walker pass up this opportunity?

Take this bag and leave the cafe immediately and I shall get it back from you within a few minutes near the Museum House.

Ms. Mercy pleaded. And at the same time she put her foot on the foot of the walker from under the table. As her body had touched the Walker's body, he felt as if electricity ran through his veins instead of blood. He grabbed up the bag that was placed on the table and in the next second he hurried towards the exit door.

The young man who entered through the door was now going towards the reception counter; his eyes might not have fallen on Mercy yet. Because Mercy's chair was placed in a slightly dark corner or maybe the young man was deliberately ignoring her.

When Walker passed through the young man with the bag in his hand, the young man looked at him in shock. His eyes were settled on the handbag, but the Walker walked out the door like the wind and storm. The young man paused for a moment and then hurried towards the door.

As soon as he went out, Mercy poured the last sip of the whiskey down her throat and then took a currency note from her pocket and pressed it under an empty glass and walked towards the door.

As soon as John Walker left the cafe, he hid himself behind a nearby phone booth that was just beside the cafe's exit door.

After a few moments, he found the young man in distress while looking around. He was probably looking for John Walker.

Finding him attracted to the other side, he quickly raised his hand and within two seconds the bag reached the roof top of the phone booth. He did it so quickly and swiftly that hardly any eye could check it out. The next moment he went on contentedly towards the road.

As soon as he left his place and reached the footpath, suddenly something hard touched his side and a whisper echoed in his ears.

Be careful, if you do any wrong moves, I will pile your body here. And the Walker realized that the object poking at his side was nothing other than the barrel of a revolver.

What do you want? Suddenly Walker turned around quickly. He knew this much that the young man will definitely hesitate to shoot at him in a crowded market. Because he knew that if he didn't resist, the risk of him being caught was certainly higher than a hundred percent.

Where is that bag? The young man whose hand was in his coat pocket and the Walker knew that his finger must have been placed on the trigger, he asked in a stern tone.

What bag? Are you out of your mind? Walker also responded harshly. He was now feeling more secure face to face than behind.

I ask, where the bag is that you were carrying a few moments ago, answer me quickly, otherwise I will shoot you. The young man was stricter this time.

Taxi... John Walker hails a taxi passing nearby and the taxi stopped.

The young man was probably not ready for this thing, so he did not make any move.

Good bye, my friend. If we meet somewhere else again, I will tell you how much it costs you to stop me in the middle of a market. Walker stretched out his hand and opened the door of the taxi, and the next moment he was in the taxi.

The Walker had played a great psychological dodge. As soon as the door was closed, the taxi driver drove the taxi forward. And the young man stood still there. All this happened so suddenly and unexpectedly that the young man didn't get the thought of doing something.

The taxi had reached far enough that he regained consciousness and in the next second he glanced at the number plate of the car and then hurried back to the cafe. He knew this very well that he did not take the bag along with him in the taxi. So there was no point in going after Walker now. The bag must be here somewhere. He looked around carefully and then he reached the door of the cafe because he didn't find any person around, who was carrying the same bag.

He wondered, where Walker had disappeared, the bag. He had seen him when he came out of the cafe with a bag, but in those few moments when he disappeared from his eyes, he didn't know what Walker had done to that bag. Entering the cafe, he looked at the table where he had seen Mercy was sitting. But Mercy was also missing. This was the second shock to him.

He had seen Mercy while she was entering the cafe. But he wanted to call someone before bothering her, but he neither succeeded to call, nor he found Mercy. He lingered in the hall for a few moments and then came back out of the cafe. Mercy and the bag had disappeared like a horn from a donkey's head.

He walked out of the cafe and then stood on the street for a while. He was very worried. Suddenly he saw Mercy in the distance. He recognized her by her red skirt, which was her prominent from a far. As soon as he saw Mercy, he quickly moved towards her.

Mercy was standing outside a shop not far from the cafe. He walked quickly towards her. He was taking as much care as possible so that she could not see him. Soon he was close to her but he stopped in a daze. Mercy was empty handed. She didn't have that bag either, but the worry overshadowing her was a sign that she might be worried about the bag too.

Hmm... That means Mercy just handed over the bag to that man to avoid me. He thought while stopping on the side.

Mercy was shifting her sides anxiously as time was passing the Mercy's face was getting stressed.

After thinking about something, he moved towards Mercy. As soon as he got closer, Mercy was shocked to see him, the paleness on her face deepened, Why did you give the bag to that man? He asked in an awful tone.

You... but who are you and what do you mean? Mercy asked hesitatingly.

You have taken a big risk, Ms. Mercy. That man sat in the taxi in front of me and left, and for your information, the bag was not in his hands. He told Mercy.

And Mercy felt as if her heart had failed to function.

Now you tell your boss that he will not find this bag for the rest of his life. Actually, it was your boss's fault that sent you to get that bag. A weak girl like you was not capable of guarding such a big secret.

The young man said sternly and moved on.

Listen... Mercy called him from behind while stuttering it.

What is it now? He turned around while muttering.

Are you saying that he has gone and the bag was not with him? Mercy said in a sinking tone.

Why do I need to lie? That damn person proved so clever. He also managed to give me dodge. The young man replied in a soft tone and then walked away.

Mercy was standing there and was thinking of something. Her face was turned very pale, like someone had squeezed out all the blood from his body. And then she walked back to the cafe in a defeated manner. Her gait was as if a criminal was walking towards the gallows.

    Chapter 2

This moment was certainly amazing for Imran. Because, he had literally jumped from his seat, when he heard this.

What are you talking about? His voice was almost cracked with surprise.

I am right, sir. I saw him there myself and I know him well. Even once, a clash among us has also happened.

But the question is, what has he come here to do, and then why he kept his arrival so secret? He is a spy of our friendly country, if he had any need, he could openly take help from us. Imran's tone was still full of surprise.

What can I say in this regard? I have seen him and considered it my duty to inform you. Tiger replied with a shrug.

Hmm... Imran got lost in some deep thought and Tiger also sat down silently. A few moments later, he addressed Tiger in shock.

Well you go now, if he is seen anywhere, pursue him and then immediately inform me of his whereabouts. Imran coldly ordered Tiger.

Better sir. said Tiger while getting up and then he walked towards the exit gate of the hotel. The next moment he turned sharply and then whispered in Imran's ears.

He is entering the hotel, sir?

Ok, you wait for me outside the hotel. Imran replied and Tiger went out of the hotel hurriedly.

Imran got up from his chair as soon as the Tiger left the hotel. From his pocket, he took out a currency note and pressed it under the ashtray and then he turned around and started moving towards the counter where the tall, muscular-bodied young man was standing. His face appearances were shouting that he was Chinese. He was shocked for a moment while looking towards Imran and then into his eyes expressions of excitement disappeared.

Imran came closer to him and stopped.

People call me Ali Imran of Pakasia, but whatever you say, I accept whether you say it Pakasia or Cheng-Shiian, everything is fine. Imran said while delivering a full speech on his introduction.

On the word of Cheng-Shi, he looked carefully into Imran's eyes and Imran blushed as if she was an innocent girl and the eyes of a non-married young man were falling on her virgin face.

Come, let's sit on a table. The young man invited Imran with a smile.

"On the table...? What are you saying Sir? The management of this hotel is very strict. As soon as you sat at the
