My real name is Karolis Abramavičius but I chose to present myself under a pen name as Carl Abrams.I live in a small country near the Baltic Sea called Lithuania.I enjoy writing and it has been like a new phase of my life ever since I started it. From most of all the remaining genres I admire fantasy and science fiction the most. So, I express myself creating stories related to these genres (sci-fi mostly).I consider science fiction genre to be a prophecy of the future. So, creating your own alternatives means that by chance you can predict the future itself, right? Then why not to try that? I mean, if we looked at the older art related to sci-fi, we could see that their predictions were based on various present tendencies: technological, social processes. Some of the predictions turned out to be quite accurate eventually...I have a dream of witnessing my creations reaching great cinema screens one day... :) I really pay a lot of attention to value of the content that I write. To be honest, I think that when money and fame is the primary object to an author, then it is all about feeding the main stream media -- that means that such authors basically are not able to create any tangible creative value. Authenticity is the key. Only authentic and dedicated creators can make sure they name prevail throughout the time because they give something different, something from their own heart, SOMETHING OF VALUE.As you can see not all of my books are related to science fiction. That is because I think it is necessary to try and explore other genres as well. One of them is fantasy - paranormal and mystery stories. I think that this genre is very interesting, since it is related to existencial questions that we know very little about...Always remember: happiness can be easily found if you dare to listen to your heart!

Chapter I. After death
My life, my whole life…
some old man was talking to himself with grief in his voice while sitting on a well-known side-street of Boston. He was drinking wine from a bottle stuffed into a brown paper bag. If I could only turn the time back… If I could…
Shortly, the old man was cheered up by his four-footed friend showing from around a corner. He named him Steven, after the dog he had when he was a child. Both of them were survivors of the streets.
As he pet his dog the man realized that it was time to move to his shack. It was autumn so it got dark and cold quite early. His shack was not far — just across a busy street.
When the bottle was empty he threw it at the wall in front of him. The sound of breaking glass echoed. He stood up sharply and started moving towards the bustling street nearby.
A truck driver driving in the busy street was not expecting such a surprise: this crazy old man suddenly appearing right in the middle of the street and without any indication of stepping back… The driver tried to stop his truck as smooth as he could. However, his trailer was moving sideways along its own path, despite the driver’s best intentions — finally it hit that old man, who stood there with his eyes closed as if he had lost the will to live anymore… Meanwhile, the truck itself hit oncoming traffic and smashed into them with great force.
Shortly after the paramedics arrived and provided help to the injured. One of the paramedics discovered an ID card in one of the inner pockets of the old man’s jacket. According to the card the man that was lying on the ground was seventy-two year old Japanese national Masaji Rizako.
***
That harsh and well-known sound of an electronic alarm-clock went off. It was resting nearby on the cupboard. A twenty-two year old man woke up in a bed without properly realizing where he was. When he looked around he deeply doubted the view before him:
My room?!
asked the man himself with huge wonder in his voice. Can’t be… Am I dead…?
After asking himself such an existential question he got out of his bed and moved to the window that was at the right side of the room. He angled the louvers and was temporarily blinded by the light of the morning sun. When his eyes got used to the light he saw a street below that was covered with frost. People were going about their business by cars, public transportation and by foot.
The man almost faded when he heard a voice of some woman calling him:
Masaji! Masaji! Hurry up or you will be late for your job interview!
Mother…?
he asked quietly to himself. Suddenly he felt tears filling his eyes. What the hell is going on…?
He wiped his eyes and looked around his room. He stared in wonderment at the poster of The Beatles hanging on his door. After that the man found his clothes lying on the ground at the foot of his bed. After dressing up he walked to the door and tried to find his courage. He took a deep breath and spun the lock. After opening the door the first thing worth noticing was the pleasant smell of fried ham and eggs.
Masaji slowly walked through the corridor to the kitchen. He stopped and took a deep breath once again. After exhaling, Masaji stepped into the kitchen. The view he saw shocked him: his mother was preparing the table for breakfast.
At last, Masaji. One moment I thought that I was going to have to get you out of your bed by force
said his mother.
Mother…
he said softly and hugged her tightly after running towards her.
Masaji… Did something happen?
she asked, concerned, while looking into her son’s eyes. You look pale. Sit at the table, your breakfast is getting cold. Today is an important day. You know how hard your father tried to get you that job.
Yes…
he answered quietly and sat at the table to eat.
Suddenly a dog ran into the kitchen. It was the family’s beloved poodle, Steven. The dog came close to Masaji and sniffed him. After which he swiftly moved back with his tail between his legs and gave a quiet yelp. When Masaji looked into the dog’s eyes he started growling like he did not recognize Masaji at all. Masaji felt very strange.
What the… What’s wrong with you, dog?
said his mother looking at the dog. It was not showing any signs of calming so she closed it behind the door in another room.
Looking up,
