The story wasn’t coming .

It simply wasn’t coming.

And, just as frustratingly, neither was she.

She was behind on her deadline and that was bad enough. But what was absolutely the fucking worst in Ariyana’s- Ari to her friends and Sinna St. Clair to her adoring fans- book was attempting to labor under the worst case of writer’s block she’d ever imagined possible. And she had a rather massive and fertile imagination.

Or. Rather. She wasn’t laboring at all.

"...And that, dear reader, is the entire fucking problem." Ari all but growled to herself as she violently shoved away from her desk, yanking her hands back from the poor blameless keyboard as if it had burned her. She glared at it even though it wasn’t the problem- she was.

So she did what she’d always done when she was too fucking stressed to deal with the day’s bullshit for another minute- she took a nice long hot soak with a lot of soap, bubbles and wine, slipped into her comfiest pajamas, and slid into bed with a small little shiver of delight.

Tomorrow was a brand new day; as she had all month long as the pressure and tension mounted she said fuck it, called the day early, and promised herself tomorrow would be different. Tomorrow she’d be productive as fuck, tomorrow she’d get so many pages done, she’d maybe even finish an entire chapter, and when she did...
