About this ebook

When you're "fired as a mom" and hurled into the dreaded empty nest, there is typically ZERO warning. I was unaware when I entered my empty nest season until the 10th person enthusiastically greeted me with, "Hey, empty nester!" At first I thought they were cursing at me. I became more and more disillusioned each time I heard it.

So you've been "fired," now what? We mamas don't step into motherhood with the intention to fail. We intend to be the most puissant mother the world has ever seen and deliver first-class mothering to give our children the lives they deserve. The problem is that because we often set the bar so high for ourselves, the chasm between reality and our lofty goals is often too steep to achieve. We almost set ourselves up for failure because we are the hardest on ourselves. But the truth is, you did your BEST, and contrary to what anyone or even we might say, IT WAS good enough! In this ebook, I bust the myths about what it truly means to be an "empty nester" and help fellow moms learn how we can ELEVATE our barren nests.

She loves Jesus, a good cup of matcha, Thai & Korean food, the color pink, gaming, and watching Kdramas. So, seashells can wait, her goal is to help fellow empty nesters reset, refresh, and reimagine a life "elevated" in this new season.

You're Fired, Now What? How to Elevate Your Empty Nest - Alana Altitude

    Introduction

Hello, I am Alana, your  EMPTY NEST Elevated  coach...

As a proud mom of two adorable little girls, I was living the dream. Biased much? Of course! However, my reasoning was more profound than God calling me to be a mother. I was diagnosed with a chronic, destructive, progressive disease at age 22. I won't reveal how old I am now, but just let's say my estrogen is low and my hormones are high most days.

Back to my supermom origin story, the physician who diagnosed me said I was hopeless and would never have children. Ha, in your face lady!.. is what I wanted to go back and say to that doctor by the time my beautiful 2nd baby was born, but I knew I could not take credit for it. My greatest accomplishment in life was indeed my babies, but they were a direct blessing from God. He alone gave me the privilege to be their nurturer, head cheerleader, undisputed hairdresser, chauffeur, personal chef, fashion advisor, best shoulder-to-cry-on provider, in-house nutritionist, social media moderator, vitamin police, life coach, and some days just plain old Mommy.

The years seemed to fly by, and then it hit me as I watched my youngest daughter's graduation video. It was all over. Wait, what?! How was it over? Not the parenting, as that never ends, but their daily need for me was gone, and I felt like I was fired from the most important job I had known for the last 20+ years.

Enter a new chapter, the unfamiliar empty nest. It's not that I was unprepared for this season. I
