Her novel Julie of the Wolves won the Newbery Medal in 1973, and she received a 1960 Newbery Honor for My Side of the Mountain. A sweet but somehow unsatisfying book. The boys go through agonies to get the launch off, but the point is defused, by accident and misunderstanding, at the last minute. And then...they're done with this stuff, on to the real world. I don't know, it just doesn't quite work for me.
