    Grayson

Swinging the ax down with as much force as I can, I don’t care that chips of wood are flying everywhere. With luck one will hit Ranger and we can cancel the reporter he has just told me about.

Grayson, it was your idea to do up the cabins for fancy city folks to have a mountain getaway.

I let out a grunt. Didn’t think I’d be the one who’d have to talk to them.

There is no one to impress up here on the mountain. We both have let our hair and beards grow, neither of us have any experience with city folk, our clothes are old and stitched. I live in the old family house. Ranger, six years older than me, lives, as he always has, in a cabin on the property. One of seven cabins that many, many years ago were rented out to hunters but have long since fallen apart. Till I had the crazy idea to do them up nice and bring some money in.

The cabins are nowhere near finished. What am I meant to show a reporter? I raise the ax and bring it down hard enough to express my anger.

Ranger kicks at the dirt. Yeah, I thought your brothers might have joined you by now. Be good to be further along.

    So cancel the reporter.

"Nah, I can’t do that. It’ll be alright, just show them
