1: THE LIBRARY OF TALKING BOOKS
I
nside an enormous manuscript known as ‘The Library of Talking Books’ lived many individual books; one was called Robo Groccolli, who was a computer scientist; the other was Adam Pictureland, who was a delicious apple fruit; and the last was Sherlock Puzzleland, who was a detective. They were all neighbours and regularly went to read, or you could say, listen to fellow books at their local library where the library keeper would always greet them; his name was Book Librarian.
Robo Groccolli’s profile: Job: A computer
Address: Paragraph 3, Page 1, Living Books, Library of Living Books, postcode: PP1 LLB
There was once a book named Robo Groccolli who loved to learn new things. He knew a lot about how the world works, from the stars in the sky to the plants on the ground. He also had amazing abilities that came from his computer brain, like making pictures appear in the air, finding answers to hard questions, and building cool devices. Robo Groccolli enjoyed using his talents to help his friends and have fun with them.
Adam Pictureland’s profile: Job: An Apple
Address: Paragraph 1, Page 3, Living Books, Library of Living Books, postcode: PP3 LOL
Adam Pictureland was not just a book, but a book full of creativity and artistry. He had a passion for drawing, painting, and making collages with different materials, and he had a wonderful imagination and could transform any page into a stunning work of art. Adam liked to express his feelings and ideas through colours, shapes, and patterns. He was always cheerful and eager to share his creations and motivate his friends.
Sherlock Puzzleland’s profile: Job: A detective
Address: Paragraph 7, Page 4, Living Books, Library of Living Books, postcode: P7P 4LB
There was once a puzzle named Sherlock Puzzleland who loved to use his brilliant brain. The puzzle was always curious about everything and often tried to learn new things. Sherlock had a special talent for finding clues and solving mysteries and this enabled him to notice things that other books missed and he could crack any code or puzzle that he came across. He liked to challenge himself with riddles and enigmas that made him think hard, and yet he was also very kind and helpful to his friends and he would always lend them a hand when they had a problem.
Book Librarian’s profile: Job: Librarian
Address: Paragraph 6, Page 2, Living Books, Library of Living Books, postcode: 6PP L2B
Then, there was Book Librarian who was not an ordinary book either, but a clever and gentle one who had lived for a long time and had many amazing adventures to share. Book was the master of the library, knew everything about its wonderful collection of books, and also possessed the ability to find any information from the internet and other places. Mr Librarian loved all the books and looked after them well, making sure they were always tidy, healthy, and cheerful. He could do all these things because he had a special power. It was not magic, or anything of that nature; but science. For example, he had a tiny Groccolli computer inside his spine that connected him to the world. He could use it to talk to other books, search for facts, and even control some parts of the library. Oh, Book Librarian was proud of his skills and used them wisely.
This quartet of books were close companions, and they enjoyed spending their leisure time at the place where they lived, which was a library full of knowledge and stories. They had different preferences and tastes for learning new information and skills. They also had a fondness for amusing themselves and participating in playful activities with one another. On a particular day, they came up with the idea of having a meal outdoors in the green area that was located within their enormous book community. To begin, they prepared some bread slices with fillings, fresh fruits, and beverages in their bags and embarked on their exciting picnic journey.
Isn’t it a lovely day?
Adam said as he looked up at the blue sky and glanced at the green grass in front of him.
It sure is,
Robo agreed as he used his smartphone to scan the temperature and humidity.
I wonder what we will see today,
Sherlock said as he adjusted his magnifying glass.
Let’s find out,
Book Librarian said as he led the way.
Their journey was filled with wonder and curiosity as they explored the green land of stories and fellow books. Every step they took on the ground was like stepping on a different word or sentence, forming a mosaic of meanings and expressions. As they looked around, they saw colourful plants and blossoms that were actually images and drawings, creating a beautiful contrast with the text. They listened to the melodies and harmonies of the avian creatures that were composed of noises and tunes, adding a musical dimension to the scenery. They inhaled the fragrances and aromas that were made of characters and signs, giving a sense of language and communication to the air.
The four friends walked along the path until they arrived at a wonderful place where everything was made of books. It was a park full of trees and flowers, but instead of leaves and petals, they had pages and chapters. The friends looked for a cosy place to sit and relax and suddenly found a gigantic tree that had stories and poems growing on its branches. There, the four of them laid down their blankets, which were woven from fabric and threads, and took out their food, which was made of paper and ink, and had a lovely picnic as they munched, sipped, and talked. They exchanged their favourite books and what they discovered from them, and also cracked jokes and giggled a lot.

Adam asked.
I don’t know,
Robo said.
A chill-er!
Adam said as he giggled.
That’s funny,
Robo said as he smiled.
