    FOREWORD

    DR. JOE VITALE

As someone who has spent a lifetime on a mission to empower, motivate, and inspire others to expect miracles and explore their awakening from victim to victor, exploring the inner path of writing is close to my heart.

It encapsulates my deepest knowing that we as writers do not have to bleed at the typewriter, to quote Ernest Hemingway. Nor do we have to end up depressed, alcoholic, and dead at forty—like Jack London.

And yet, for the longest time, Jack London was my writing hero—and I lived a life of homelessness and poverty, struggling to achieve my writing dreams—based unconsciously, no doubt, on Jack London’s traumatic life.

Today, eighty-plus books and fifteen music albums later, and certain fame and fortune as a Law of Attraction and Ho’oponopono expert, I am inspired to keep sharing my knowledge in books and courses—and my TV Show entitled Zero Limits Living—helping others to expect miracles.

    How?

By what they think, speak, and BELIEVE.

In the book I coauthored with hypnotist Tim Shurr, One Belief Away, How to Upgrade your Unconscious Mind for Prosperity and Peace, I say about luck and beliefs:

We live in a belief-driven universe. Change your beliefs, and you’ll experience a different type of world. If some are luckier than others and you want to be one of those lucky people, start believing you already are.

I often get asked the questions that Caryl put to me during the Inner Game of Writing Summit (March 2022).

She distilled them into the pithy Golden Nuggets in this book.

At the end of the day, beyond clearing your negative beliefs and (as Caryl puts it) re-imprinting new positive, empowering beliefs about yourself and life—there is one thing that trumps everything for winning at the game of life and writing.

It came to me after someone put the following question to me on a podcast recently:

Joe, with everything that you’ve written, and with everything that you’ve read, and everything that you’ve done and everything you’ve accomplished... what’s the ONE thing that always works?

It almost stumped me. I have to give only one thing?

But then I knew. There is one thing and this one thing beats talent. It beats luck. It beats connections. It beats coincidences. It beats virtually anything anybody can mention. And what’s that one thing?

    PERSISTENCE.

If you get up every day and you keep going for your dream, knowing some days you’re going to fail and some days you’re going to win; some days it’s going to rain and some days it’s going to be sunny; some days you’re going to slip on the ice and some days it’s going to be easy peasy. If you just keep going. You will win. Persistence wins the race.

    Aloha,

Dr. Joe Vitale, a.k.a. Mr. Fire.

Star of the movie The Secret, speaker and author of bestselling books on marketing, Ho’oponopono, and Zero Limits and creator of Miracles Coaching

    INTRODUCTION

If you’ve ever wondered if being a writer is always a breeze—it’s not.

At least not all the time—and not for most writers and creatives.

If you are struggling or striving for more success in your writing life, you are in the right place.

As former Hollywood scriptwriter turned psychotherapist Dennis Palumbo tells his clients wracked by self-doubt and writer’s block:

Every successful writer used to be a struggling writer—all the successful ones still struggle.

And yet, as Dr. Joe Vitale says in the Foreword... that does not mean you have to bleed at the typewriter, to quote Ernest Hemingway.

    Or give up.

Instead, take heart from what you will discover in The Inner Path of Writing.

This book is a collection of useful tools and life lessons to help you shine as a writer and not give up in the face of writing or creative obstacles so you can persevere to win.

These are the habits, mindsets, and stories shared by writers, authors, and publishers about overcoming the obstacles, resistance, and Dragons of Fear, Doubt, and Insecurity that plague writers—new and experienced.

It also contains Golden Nuggets from transformational coaches and healers whose expertise can assist writers to be healthier while also becoming more inspired, productive, and profitable.
