About this ebook
The human brain is like one of our muscles, and like any of them, you must work constantly to not atrophy. We are used to seeing physically wellbeing more important than our own thinking, and because of that, we hardly work on our intelligence.
The purpose of this book is to work that powerful "muscle". We will begin with problems that activate our brain, just like what makes a warm-up to the muscles. Then, as the reader moves forward, we will develop other important aspects, such as the use of appropriate language for problem solving, ordered reasoning, and mathematical logical thinking.
Now, for this treatment to our brain to be effective, it is necessary for the reader to continue his exercise routine, once he starts, does not stop, in the end he will be able to realize that he has done a good to his mind.

Spatial perception.
One of the points to improve our mind is the so-called spatial perception. This ability allows us to be aware of our relationship with the environment in the space that surrounds us and of ourselves.
We can think that spatial perception is formed by two processes, those that build representations about our space through the senses and those that construct representations about our body, such as position or orientation.
Spatial perception allows us to understand the disposition of our environment and our relationship with it, it also allows us to understand the relationship of objects when there is a change of position in space, it also helps us to think in two or three dimensions.
Maybe the reader does not understand why it is necessary to work on this aspect, but I give you a simple example. Do you remember the movie starring Tom Hanks where a plane is broken down by flying off? All people are saved thanks to the cunning of the pilot, and this is where the spatial perception comes in, since it is, to a large extent, what allowed the pilot to make the right decision.
The following problems are aimed at improving our spatial perception, as all the exercises in the book have been carefully selected to affect our mind. Enjoy them!
Problem 1. Triangles with matches.
Sometimes we take for granted how is the form of the universe that surrounds us, most of the time we do not ask if there are rules that follow, we live without realizing, but our brain does, in fact, performs millions of calculations per second following those rules.
Our brain is always calculating the distance between the objects that surround us, otherwise we would hit everything, like drunks.
In this sense, the first exercises we perform are focused on working this aspect, which is known as spatial perception, and has to do with the way we see objects and not only in their shape, size or color, but also their position with respect to other objects.
Let's go to the first problem:
With three matches you can form an equilateral triangle, that is, a triangle where the three sides measure the same. What is the maximum number of triangles that we can form with nine matches, so that each side measures the length of a match?
Let's see a drawing of an equilateral triangle formed by three matches:
Before giving the solution, we invite the reader to try to solve the problem, if it is possible to take seven matches and try to build triangles with them and see how many you can get, remember that the problem looks for as much as possible.
I suppose the reader has already tried to solve the problem, it is probable that he already has a solution. Before giving the solution, we will try to see some paths that most people go through to solve this problem, to try to guide the solution of the problem, in this way, if the reader has not yet solved the problem, perhaps with These first ideas can find it. It is worth mentioning that throughout the book we will follow this same strategy, before giving the answer to the problem, we will sketch ideas that lead us to the solution.
Perhaps, if the reader has matches at hand, the first thing that would come to mind is to place the matches on a table and see how many triangles we can find:
In the previous drawing, on a triangle formed by three matches, we were placing more matches until completing seven. Following with the same idea we can put the matches like this:
We then have a first approximation to our solution: we can form at least four triangles.
It is likely that you have tried to move the matches from the previous configuration and cannot find a way to get more triangles. On many occasions, not being able to give a better answer, tempts us to give what we find as a final and unappealable truth, and that our brain does not allow us to see beyond makes us close and not accept new ideas. Instead, we
