CHILDREN'S BEDTIME STORIES - Lovely Stories
The Moon Behind The Ashes
The moon was no longer visible to the human eye in the year 2550. It was the same every night. The Earth was ruled by darkness, starvation, and the struggle for existence.
One night, the residents of a little village near the wide ocean were resting quietly when an explosion lit up the sky.
Phobus and Zain awoke and glanced out the open window of their modest bedroom.
There was another explosion, followed by terrified screaming. They were aware of what was going on outside at the time. Humanoid robotic warriors are a high-class society's artificial intelligence weapon stationed in their community. It will not stop until every member of the lower class is dead.
Alina approached her boys' room with trepidation. She grabbed some of their clothing and stuffed them into an old rucksack.
Mother, we shouldn't go outside! Let's just stay here inside the house!
Phobus said, his voice trembling.
We're all going to die if we stay here, son,
Alina said as she grabbed her boys' wrists and led them out of their chamber.
There's a boat on the east side of this island; we need to catch it before it leaves; it's the only way we can get out of this town,
George, Alina's husband, said as he opened the door.
When Zain and Phobus spotted a humanoid robotic soldier in front of their home, they shouted. They wanted to help their father, but it was too late. Numerous rounds were fired into his body.
The three escaped by leaping out the window.
Death was all around them. The chilling breeze brought the pungent odour of blood.
Despite their struggles to slide on the dirt, they made their way to the east beach. When they arrived, the boat was about to depart. Their mother paid the boatman a substantial sum to get them off the island.
The boat was packed with passengers desperate to live.
The boat began to sink shortly after they left.
Alina hugged her children tenderly. Fearful tears streamed down her cheeks as she pleaded with Zain, Zain, whatever happens, you have to save your brother. You're stronger than him. You must protect Phobus.
The air was filled with crying. Fortunately, a few individuals escaped and swam back to shore. Hundreds of people were killed.
Phobus was startled awake by the thunderous sound of explosives. He shuddered in the cold as the ocean's chilly water soaked his body. He saw his elder brother, Zain, standing in front of him.
Come on, Phobus! We can't stay here any longer! The humanoid army will be here soon! Grab that bag! You'll need it!
Even though Phobus was still in a daze, he did what his brother instructed.
The path was obscured by darkness, thick smoke, and ashes, but the two youngsters took a chance. They walked about the dangerous town with caution. Zain's strategy to rescue his fainthearted sibling was to try to locate aid and a safe location to stay.
They came upon an ancient wolfhound amid their difficult journey.
Phobus took cover behind his elder brother. His expression was filled with fear. It will eat us alive.
The wolfhound stared at them.
We never know; it could be a harmless one,
Zain said as he squatted down and made eye contact with the animal.
The wolfhound leapt into Zain's arms in an instant. It licked his cheek and flicked its tail at him.
Phobus, you should open your heart. Not everyone out here will hurt you. Some will give you strength when you are weak. Who knows? One day, you might see the moonlight behind the dark ashes.
Following the friendly welcome, the wolf-dog led them to a nearby cave. They decided to spend the night hidden inside since the location seemed safe.
The morning dawned, but the little settlement in the island's centre still slept. It had been utterly crushed.
Zain and Phobus went on their way. With the wolf hound at their sides, their concerns began to fade.
They spent many days travelling over the island's tallest peak. It was an uneventful journey until they encountered a robotic humanoid soldier amid the wilderness. It raised its rifle and aimed it towards Phobus.
The wolf-dog leapt at the robot's iron body before it could fire. They fought on the ground.
Zain took his younger brother away from the scene. The sound of gunshots crushed their hearts. They tried to help their pal but realized it was too late.
They arrived at the bottom of a cliff. Despite being tired and afraid, their faces brightened as they saw the refugee camp's campfire and white flag. They utilized rusted spyglasses to ensure that it was the location they were looking for.
Zain confronted his brother. His grin was tinged with melancholy. You're safe now, Phobus; go down there and live with them.
He didn't hesitate to question his brother, who had left him perplexed. What about you, Zain? You're not coming with me?
I'm sorry, but I need to go somewhere far away,
Zain said quietly as he patted his brother on the shoulder. "Now... I can finally face mom
