Annabelle Darlin stumbles upon a strange mystery with a bizarre twist after a collectable doll goes missing and a customer is murdered. She races to solve the mystery of the connection between the two crimes before the real killer gets away.

Annabelle Darlin finished setting up the donuts display at the Darlin Donuts Café while her aunt Gabby helped by making sure the counter was clear and ready for the morning rush. Soft music played in the background to create a relaxing ambiance in the donut shop.
Annabelle made sure to place her chocolate-filled donuts of the day up front. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the yummy fragrance of the freshly fried donuts wafted to her nose. What a delightful scent. It made her hungry.
The chime sounded when the door opened and she looked up.
Good morning, Penelope,
she said to one of her regulars. What can I get for you today?
Penelope’s eyes looked somewhat anxious. She wasn’t her usual cheerful self. She looked a bit distracted, glancing over her shoulders every now and then.
Penelope was a vibrant middle-aged woman who loved to dress eccentric. Today, she wore a large stylish caped red coat and a yellow floral dress underneath. Her bright red lipstick matched the color of her red coat. Her blond hair was swept up into a lovely 1960s style hairdo.
Penelope then glanced at the display shelf, eyeing the rows of donuts.
I’ll have two chocolate-filled donuts, please. And two coffees, black.
Sure, no problem,
Annabelle said. Is everything okay?
Annabelle loved pleasing her customers and they came from all walks of life. Rich, poor, working-class, and those who were in between jobs. Everyone came to the Darlin Donuts Café to hang out and mingle and enjoy savoring treats from the menu while chatting by the fireplace.
