Marcus Williams
Marcus has written thousands of pages of law enforcement reports describing the details of cyber crimes, sexual assaults, drug trafficking, and murders during his career as a federal agent. He now uses all of that "practice" to tell stories that excite, entertain, and engage. While life doesn't always have a happy ending, there is always hope found in family, friendships, and kindness. He and his family have lived all over the world and love exploring and making friends wherever they find themselves: from California's high desert, to Sicily's historical marvels, to the beaches of the mid-Atlantic coast, to the rain soaked forests of Washington, to the base Mt Fuji, and to the majestic Rocky Mountains. The world is full of mystery and untold stories.

Fountain of Power - Marcus Williams
Chapter 1
Asaph stood absolutely still in the tall grass. The air hung heavy in the cloudless heat of the morning, and sweat dripped relentlessly down his forehead. He ignored the stinging sensation in his eyes and focused on the shallow watering hole directly in front of him. A fly buzzed in his ear and then landed on his nose. He crossed his eyes and wriggled his nose while silently praying for it to fly away. Something moved, and he readjusted his focus back to the water’s edge.
An impala cautiously approached the water, its eyes darting back and forth looking for signs of danger.
Asaph didn’t breathe. His fist closed tightly around the shaft of his spear as his muscles tensed.
The impala bent down and took a drink before lifting its head for one last check for danger. Satisfied there were no predators lurking nearby, it bent down again and began to drink deeply.
Ever so slowly, Asaph cocked his arm back and readied himself to step forward and throw the spear. His family hadn’t eaten for a week, and his younger sister grew weaker everyday. Angry blisters covered her skin; she whimpered in constant pain. The family had been cast out of their village after the village healers were unable to stop the spread of the blisters.
His heart thumped in his chest and his mouth went dry. Inch by inch, he raised the spear.
The impala continued to drink, too thirsty to notice the threat camouflaged in the grass.
Asaph counted to three in his head and then, with one fluid practiced motion, stepped out of the grass and threw his arm forward. Just as he released the spear, he heard thrashing in the grass behind him.
Asaph,
his little brother Kenan called. Did you catch anything?
Asaph groaned.
The spear flew straight and true, but the impala looked up in alarm and, with surprising speed, leapt to escape.
Asaph watched in horror as the spear struck exactly where he had aimed, but instead of hitting the creature in the heart, it impaled itself in the animal’s hindquarters.
Kenan broke through the brush just
