Mated to the Hybrid Alpha - Wilfred Bright

    CHAPTER 1

    Alexa's Point Of View

Bring her out, a gruff voice instructed and the dangling of keys followed. The prison gates clanged together as they were opened by the guard. I struggled to open my eyes to see who approached me.?

Get up, bitch! My frail body was pulled up by the guard and I was dragged out roughly by my arm. I winced in pain as my body met with the rock-hard floor. I let out a dry cough as I breathed in fresh air for the first time in many days. For the past few days now, I've been breathing the stinky, suffocating air of the prison.?

I only managed to open my eyes halfway. I could only breathe shallowly with the little strength I had left in me. How long have I been locked in there? Three? Four days? Without food and water. All for spilling a drink on the alpha's mistress.?

Alexa! A male voice whispered fearfully. The male figure was blurry but I could tell who it was from his curly chestnut hair. Roman, I whispered weakly.?

    Are you okay??

He came to me and picked me up gently. He carried me into his arms like I weighed nothing. He was looking around nervously, probably to see if anyone was watching. If they found him helping me, he could get into trouble. I couldn't keep my eyes open for long in his arms. I seeped into darkness as the dreadful memory appeared in my head.?

Therefore, as the next in line as alpha of Raven Pack, I, Diaz Viceroy, sentence Drago Northwolf, and his family, to death.?

No, mum! Dad! My father is innocent! He did not commit treason! Let him go!?

Someone get that traitor's daughter out of here! She is to become a slave for the pack and a bed warmer for the alpha when she's old enough!?

No! No! Let me go! Father! Father!?

Before my eyes, the executioner let his knife down and my father's head rolled to my feet.?

    Father!?

I snapped my eyes open, my chest rising and falling as I breathed heavily. I placed my palm on my chest as I tried to regulate my breath.?

It's fine, Alexa. It's just a dream, I told myself repeatedly. I clasped my trembling hands together as I tried so hard to get the picture of my family being executed out of my head.?

It's been eleven years and it still haunts me to this day. I touched my forehead and realized there was a damp napkin on it. I brought it down and managed to sit up. I looked beside me and saw my best friend, Ivy.?

She must have nursed me all night. I looked out the window. The sun is rising. It's my birthday today. My twentieth birthday. The day I'm going to be given to that darned alpha as his bed warmer.?

I looked around. It's only a matter of time before the head maid comes in to wake us up - I mean, pour dirty saltwater on us.?

I tapped Ivy to wake her up. Ivy, wake up, it's almost sunrise.?

She mumbled something and turned the other way. wake up, it's morning. I tapped her harder. She groaned in annoyance and opened one of her eyes.?

You're awake, she said sleepily. How are you feeling?

Like death but it's better than yesterday.?

    Roman brought you back.?

    I nodded. I know.?

    Are you lowlifes still asleep?!?

Like they were enchanted, the rest of the maids woke up at the sound of the head maid's voice. Anyone she found asleep would regret sleeping. We quickly made our beds and left the quarters for the first work of the day -? work on the rice field.

Move move move! The guard yelled angrily, lashing his whip at the nearest person to him. We were all in a single file. The guards guarded us on both sides of the line, whipping anyone who got on their nerves or slowed them down.?

Get to work The head guard instructed. We all dispersed to our various posts.

Gosh, I hate working here, Ivy grumbled silently as we began to pick the weeds.?

Shh, they might hear you, Someone cautioned. I turned and Roman's smiley face came to view. His pack was invaded by the vampires and he was taken as a slave at a young age but he still smiles every second. I wonder what makes him so happy. I forgot how to smile a long time ago.?

Who cares? Ivy snapped at him silently.?

Some of them have super hearing ability, you know? He whispered to Ivy. Ivy pursed her lips and hissed. Forgot about that,?

I diverted my gaze forward and saw one of the guards staring intensely at me. I returned his gaze with a glare.?

    Blood-sucking monster!

What are you chattering about? The guard snapped.?

Nothing, Ivy quickly said. The guard turned his gaze to me. These creatures don't intimidate me. I stared back at him with my chin held high.?

Look down you wolfless bitch! The guard spat but I didn't flinch. Nor did I look away. I had been referred to as that for as long as I could remember so it didn't mean anything again. It didn't phase me. I was no longer hurt by these kinds of words. They've told me over and over and over again.?

    Wolfless.

    Bitch.

    Traitor's daughter.?

    Slut.?

    All sorts.?

I held his glare and the monster's frown deepened. I must have made him more annoyed, not that I cared.? He came over to me and pulled my hair roughly. He spat on my face before pushing me into the mud.?

The likes of you don't deserve to live! You traitor!?

I chuckled bitterly. I supported my legs with my hand and stood up.?

Bastard!? I spat at him disdainfully.?

You bitch! Did you just swear at me? She just swore at me, right? Someone translate what she said!?

Um, Ivy quietly said, raising her hand. She called you handsome, she said and I snorted.

You lowlifes! How dare you! I will make sure I-?

    Barnabas!?

The guard flinched at the sound of that voice. He quickly turned and bowed to the owner of the voice.?

    S... sire,?

The seven-foot-tall man took off his furry coat and gave it to the nearest guard to hold.?

Master Raga is back. When did he return? Ivy whispered to me.

Raga went to Barnabas and hit him on his bald head with his gloves. I believe you have other things to supervise, Barnabas, so what are you doing here??

    B...but master, this slave, she-?

Stop whining and get to work. Now!

    CHAPTER 2

    Alexa's Point Of View

Barnabas bowed and scurried away. Raga hissed and turned his attention to Ivy and me. His gaze lingered on me for a while. Get to work, he ordered before turning to leave.?

Gosh, he's so hot, Ivy gawked at the retreating figure of Raga. Master Raga is the head of the pack warriors.?

I turned to her, I thought you said you didn't like him.?

I don't like him because of what he is. You can't deny the fact that he's nice.

    I scoffed.?

They are all the same. All of them. They are nothing but heartless cold-blooded killers. Betrayers and untrustworthy.?

Today is Alpha Diaz's birthday. Roman said as we walked with the others with baskets of harvested rice in our hands.?

I don't get why that information concerns me, I told him.?

Huh? Well, you never told me you shared a birthday with him. I never knew your birthday, Ivy just told me.?

I stopped in my tracks. I glanced at Ivy and she smiled apologetically.?

You're going to be under me the moment you clock twenty, his words echoed in my head. No. I can't let that happen. I can't be his bed warmer. I'd rather die than sleep with the man who killed my family.?

Keep moving! A guard fired and pushed me roughly to the front. I resumed walking with my head filled with thoughts. I have to escape this place and I don't mind dying trying.?

    ***

You all follow Barnabas to the coal mine. You, wolfless girl, follow me. That was Gander, the assistant head guard and former personal guard of the former alpha. He's one of the people who betrayed our loving alpha and followed the bloodsuckers.?

He better watches his back because I might drive a knife into his skull when he least expects it. He grabbed me by my collar and pulled me along with him. He pulled me through the garden and I sneakingly plucked a couple of Yellow hyacinth flowers I saw. Just a sniff of its pollens and a person is knocked out.?

He tossed me into a room. Get ready for the alpha and don't leave this place, He ordered before leaving.

Shortly after, two women came in. One of them was carrying a tray filled with beautiful ornaments and the other held a gown.?

Go into the bathroom and wash up. The pale-skinned one said.?

No! I deadpanned. I was basically dragged into the bathroom and forced to bathe. I hid the yellow hyacinth in one of the drawers. My ginger hair was brushed out and adorned with ruby and diamond hairpins. I was clad in a silver gown that barely covered my body. Half of my breasts were out and there were slits up each side that stopped at my waist. I wasn't allowed to wear any underwear.?

The alpha will visit you at night, they told me before they left. I checked myself in the mirror. I hated my reflection. I hated that I was dressed up as a whore for the alpha.

I was locked in a room all afternoon. With a guard by the door, it would be impossible to escape. I brought out the flower from the drawer and dusted the pollen grains on my palm.?

I sighted a vase on the dresser and picked it up. I smashed it on the ground and screamed to gain the attention of the guard. I hurt my knee with one of the pieces and sat on the ground.?

What happened? The guard asked as he came rushing in.?

My knee! It hurts so much! I cried, pointing to my bleeding knee. He came to me.?

How did you hurt yourself? Let me see.?

He held my leg and raised it to check out my wound. It's just a- the moment he faced me, I covered his nose with my palm. He sniffed in the scent as he struggled and he fell unconscious in no time. I took his knife and stepped on him as I walked away.?

I opened the door and looked left and right for anyone. When I was sure it was clear, I stepped out. I walked through the halls to the balcony. The moon was already out and I could hear noises ahead. He must be having so much fun. I hope he chokes on a grape and dies.?

There was no way I could go down without being noticed. The only way I could go unnoticed is if I climb down the walls of the balcony using the vines. I held the knife with my teeth and I gently stepped down from the balcony.?

I held onto the vines and looked down. Great heavens, it's a long way down. Gently and cautiously, I began to climb down. My heart almost fell to my stomach when my leg slipped. I regained myself and with a racing heart, I continued my climb down. My feet finally touched the cold grass.?

I got down successfully and crawled into the nearby bush. I hid there as three guards passed by. The wind blew passed me and an intoxicating scent hit my nose. It was the scent of pine trees mixed with lotus.

What was that? I asked myself. I tried to focus on my escape and not the strongly arousing and intoxicating scent I kept perceiving. ?

I peeked out of the bush and sighed in relief when I saw no one in sight. I stood straight and ran past the garden to the stables. I'm just a little distance from the gate. I get past the guard post and I'm good to go. I can't believe I'm finally leaving here. I've tried almost fifty times but I always failed. Is this finally the moment when I succeed?

Just then, I heard approaching footsteps. I tried to open the door to one of the stalls but it was locked. I tried pulling another but it was also locked. The steps were clearer. It was only an amount of time before they reach here. I looked around. There was nowhere to hide.?

Was I about to get caught?

The shadow of the person appeared and my heart picked up its pace. This is it. Once again, my plan is ruined.

Just as the person was appearing, a hand pulled me and my back hit the wall. Something towered above me. I looked up and found a pair of silver eyes staring down at me. Then it came back. The scent. This time it was stronger. It was as if it was oozing off the person in front of me.?

So it's you, I shivered slightly at the sound of his voice. It was very deep yet smooth, velvety, and dominant. His silver eyes peered into my very soul.

    CHAPTER 3

    Lyell's Point Of View

Alpha, guards are guarding the storage room. Five to be exact, Gemma, one of the gammas informed me through the mind link. I stood my feet on the oak tree and searched around the area.

Gemma, Torin, and Riaz, I believe you can take them down. Make it quick and quiet. And get me all information you can find in there.

    Yes, Alpha, Gemma replied.

The rest of you should meet me at the front gate in ten minutes. And Riaz, don't touch anything I don't ask you to.

Not even pretty diamonds, he whined.

Not even those. We're here for business, not to steal. Don't touch anything unimportant, I warned.

    Yes, Alpha, He replied grudgingly.

Good. Meet me at the gate in ten. Go, I cut them off and turned my attention to the guard at the front gate. I jumped down from the tree and landed stealthily on the ground.

My wolf, Dex, has been pining since we got here. The air shifted a few minutes ago, a new scent perhaps? My wolf has not shut up since about it. It has us both on edge constantly. My wolf has no idea what it is but he is nervous, he is never showing emotion, not to me or anyone and it's really starting to agitate me further.

It's MATE! Mate is here! She's close, I can feel it! We must get close to mate... I've never smelt this before! It's her...we must get to her! Mate!

What he said made me freeze. Mate?

Just as I was about to freak out, sniffing the hair like a fucking hound dog and barging recklessly into the palace grounds to look for proof, my beta's voice came through the mind link.

Alpha, we found something that might interest you,

    Mate! Let's go see mate!

    Oh, for fuck's sake!

    Alpha?

Is everyone alright? I say back, trying to get Dex's voice out of my head.

Yes, Alpha, no one was noticed,

Good. You all come to the gate. I have something I need to find.

What is it, Alpha? We'll find it for you.

    Mate! She's close.

I shut my eyes, trying so hard to keep Dex in control. No, this is something I have to find myself. I said, my voice coming out thick as Dex tried to take over me.

    Yes, Alpha,

I shut him out and climbed up the tall fence of the palace. I jumped inside and landed at the back of the treadmill. When I was sure the coast was clear, I stepped out. I walked further and a guard passed me by.

    Who are you? He demanded.

I paused. The smell coming from him smelt heavenly. I sniff the air and it's coming from around him.

Are you deaf?! He smacks my shoulder. I pulled him by his collar closer to myself and sniffed in his scent. He was in contact with her. Did he touch my mate? The thought of him touching her made my blood boil.

He tried to smack my hand off but my grip was stronger. Where is she? I demanded authoritatively.

    Who?

My wolf came out forcefully, my eyes turning red, the girl you just touched! WHERE IS MY MATE! I growled out to his face, making him lower his gaze, submitting to the authority of my wolf.

I don't know who you're talking about, he cried. I grabbed him by the neck and held him above the ground. My anger came off in waves. Dex was in control of my body.

S...she's..u..up th..there, he strained out, pointing up a vine wall.

He is trashing at my hold and I release him, cursing at my wolf for doing whatever the fuck he wanted. I planned to come here and leave unnoticed.

I rubbed my hand down my face and squint my eyes, my senses flooded with her heavenly smell. I need to see her. I need proof. I need-

Who are you? I glanced at the lowlife on the floor who was gasping for air. Suddenly annoyed by his presence, I hit a weak spot in his neck and he fell unconscious.

I jumped high and landed on the balcony of the building.

I walked a few distances before I came across a hairpin. I picked it up and sniffed it softly.

    MATE!

    It's her!

Could Dex be saying the truth? I have a mate in Raven Pack right now? Who is she? Is she younger? Older? What does she look like?

I itch so much to find the answers to these questions. I squeezed the pin in my palm and turned in the other direction. My mate is no more here. I jumped down the wall and raced toward the direction of the garden. Yes! I can smell her. Her scent is even stronger.

I halted at a right turn. I felt her presence. I turned right and took quite careful steps toward the stables. My heart was thumping wildly, Dex grew more agitated as her scent grew stronger and stronger.

I got in through a small door and paused when I saw a feminine figure.

IT'S HER! IT'S MATE! LET'S GO TAKE HER!

No. I shouldn't be rash. Even though it was hard, I controlled Dex and approached her slowly. She suddenly turned to one of the stalls, trying to open it.

Shit, it's locked! She cursed in annoyance, turning to another. She tried opening that one too but it was also locked. She was restless as if she was hiding from something. I sighted an approaching shadow. No, I must save her. Using my super speed, I ran to her and pulled her out through the back door. Her breath was shaky and her body was trembling.

She raised her head to meet my gaze and just like that, I was frozen.

I didn't expect it to be her.

So it's you, I said in disbelief.

She batted her long eyelashes in confusion.

    It's her.

    CHAPTER 4

    Lyell's Point Of View

    Alexa.

There's no way I wouldn't recognize those big, round, almost innocent beautiful eyes. They were the first things I noticed back then, and they are the very things captivating me now.

She opened her mouth to talk but I covered her mouth with my palm. You don't wanna get caught, do you? I whispered softly in her ear and I felt her squirm against me. I smirked smugly at how much effect I had on her.

Her big eyes glared at me. I'm sure if I uncovered her mouth, she would curse me out. When I was sure the intruder was gone, I let her mouth go.

Who are you? She demanded, her voice laced with anger but her eyes held curiosity and I drank her up. Her expressions, her body language.

    Everything.

Who do you think I am? I teased, putting my body closer to hers. She shuddered against my body, making tingles shoot up my arm and travel through my body. The mate-bond telling me she was the one.

I need to go, she tries to push me away but I held her in one place. And how sure are you that wouldn't get caught?

She eyed me venomously. I appreciate your help but I can do this on my own. She said, her voice coming out shaky under her breath.

She feels the pull but she's trying so hard to ignore it.

Dex is panting for us to mark her and I almost growl, demanding him to submit and not scare our mate.

Says the one who was trembling in fear a few seconds ago, I taunted and she glared at me.

    I will not-

Faster than she could blink, I held her in my arms and she let out a quiet yelp. I took off at full speed and ran through the garden to the main entrance. I was so fast the guard didn't even notice me pass by him.

I stopped in a forest a few distances away from the palace. I let her down and she rushed to a tree to puke out all the contents of her stomach.

Are you out of your mind?! She fired, turning to puke again.

YOU HURT MATE! Dex snapped at me.

She turned to me to say something then she suddenly paused. Her eyes zeroed in on my arm and I looked down at it. I was injured and bleeding. Shit! I quickly covered it with my hand but it was too late.

You...your blood..it's...it's blue, she stuttered, taking a few steps back.

    Listen to me-

You... you're a half-vampire? She asks, taking more steps backward.

The expression on her face hurt me. She looked disgusted and repulsed by me.

I can't believe this, she said, laughing hysterically. My mate is a fucking monster?

    I frowned. Monster?

She closed the distance between us and stood on her tippy toes to grab me by my collar. I don't know what's going on in that little head of yours, she began, staring at me dead in the eyes, but just know any relationship between us is impossible. I detest the likes of you and I would rather die than be mated to your type.

Every word of hers was laced with hatred and disgust and they pierced my heart like an arrow. The woman glaring at me so disdainfully wasn't the Alexa I knew. She was different.

There was no life in her eyes.

Her innocent eyes were always full of sweetness and adolescent mischief was now devoid of everything but coldness.

    Why is that?

Because I hate the likes of you. I don't want anything to do with you nor do I want to be mated to you. In fact, reject me right now.

    No.

Her grip on my collar tightened as her brows knitted in anger. No?

If you want it that badly then reject me if you can.

    She can't do that.

    She is wolfless.

A wolfless wolf can't reject her mate.

You can't. I said as a matter of fact.

Fine. She let me go. If you don't reject me then I'll just go my own way. She said, turning to leave.

Where do you think you're going? I demanded. She paused on her steps and turned to me.

My eyes trailed down her body.

    Alexa.

    She's grown so much.

I feel stupid remembering how I used to call her scrawny when we were young.

She was in no way scrawny.

She was different. Different in a good way.

Why am I just noticing what she was wearing?

Why was she dressed in this?

Away from you. She pointed threateningly. Don't follow me if you don't want to bleed in more severe places.

I sighted a log beside me and I took a seat.

She tilted her head in confusion. What are you doing?

Sitting, I shrugged. You told me not to follow you.

She eyed me suspiciously before turning and stomping away.

Alpha, where are you? Riaz asked through the mind link.

I'm fine. Everyone return to the pack. I have something to deal with.

    Yes, Alpha.

I laid down, supporting my neck with my arm, and closed my eyes.

My ears perked up when I felt her quick steps in the leaf rustles. I opened my eyes and sat up. She frowned when she saw me.

    Welcome back.

She looked around quizzically. She turned and left in the opposite direction she first took. I waited patiently for her.

What the hell? She groaned as she came back to the very spot from where she left.

You can't leave this forest without me, I told her. Leave with me.

    No. She deadpanned.

    Why?

I would rather die than follow you. She said with finality, folding her arms on her chest.

I really didn't want to do this, I said under my breath as I approached her. She stepped back fearfully as I got closer, wh..what are you doing?

    Hold on tight,

    What do you-

I swept her off her feet and threw her over my shoulder.

You monster, let me down! Let me down, you dirty creature! Let me down!

Stop wiggling around or you'll fall.

    Let me down!

Scream again and I'll spank you. I threatened and she went quiet immediately.

    Good.

    Nice and quiet.

    CHAPTER 5

    Alexa's Point Of View

Never in my life have I ever thought I would meet my mate one day. I had given up on it the very day darkness filled my life eleven years ago. I was taken as a slave and prohibited from leaving the palace until I die.

The probability of me finding him was zero. My peers back then hoped that one powerful wolf or alpha will sight them and claim them as theirs so they would leave the palace, free from captivity and suffering. I used to find their dream ridiculous. That is impossible, I used to say but little did I know I would meet him one day.

He's a hybrid at that. Half-vampire. I used to think they were myths. I mean, which wolf in their right mind would sleep with those repulsive creatures? I certainly wouldn't. I used to hear about them from the old slaves. They said hybrids were stronger than anything that had walked the earth. Because of the blood mix of two powerful beings, they tend to be faster, stronger, and more intelligent than vampires and wolves. Even more dangerous. If you ever run into a vampire and a hybrid, run from the hybrid.

Even with all these, they are so rare to find. So rare that you could only count two in ten years. I said I wouldn't have anything to do with vampires nor any one of their kind but here I am, over the shoulder of one of them.

    Put me down! I fired.

Keep quiet, would you? You'll wake up the tigers.

    T...tigers?

What? You're afraid of tigers? He taunted and I gulped.

If there's one creature I fear most in the world, it's tigers. I had a very horrific encounter with them when I was young.

Why...why would I be scared of them? I'm not scared at all.

He hummed teasingly. We'll be out of the forest soon.

Yes, so we can go different ways.

He paused. I felt his hand on my waist as he brought me down to stand in front of him.

Do you really think I'm gonna let you go again?

I raised my brow. Again? Have we met?

    What is he talking about?

He pursed his lips and trailed his eyes down my body. His eyes stopped at my lips and his gaze lingered on it.

As much as I hate him, I wanted him to continue staring at me that way. The desire swimming in his eyes makes my body tingle in excitement.

No, he said, taking his gaze off me.

He passed by me and began to walk ahead of me. I quickened my steps to catch up with him. He isn't walking fast but his strides are wide. Stupid long legs.

We walked for a long time without anyone saying anything. He looked as though he was in deep thought. After a few hours of walking, I began to feel tired and sleepy. My legs were giving up little by little.

Gosh, can't hybrids read minds or something? He should know I'm tired by now.

I was so lost in thoughts I didn't notice he had stopped walking. I hit my head on his hard back.

Why did you stop? I snapped at him as I rubbed my forehead. He turned to me and his eyes zeroed at my feet. I looked down at them and my eyes widened at the cuts on them.

He turned his back to face me and bent down. Will you still refuse my help?

Do I really have a choice? Yes, yes, I do. No matter what, I'm not getting on a vampire's back. I hissed and passed him by.

Just then, I felt my body being lifted from the ground.

What are you doing?! I yelped. He put me at his back and I wrapped my legs around his torso subconsciously.

    You-

Don't yell. You should have got on my back when I asked nicely.

I hissed and folded my arms. I refuse to wrap my arms around his neck.

You will fall if you don't hold onto me tightly. Don't worry, I have no infections, you can touch me.

    No,

He suddenly tilted back and I quickly held him to prevent myself from falling. Are you out of your mind?

    I am.

I hissed and held him tighter. I almost saw heaven back there.

I'll make the ride as comfortable as possible so you can rest.

I rested my head on his back and closed my eyes. I'm not gonna sleep. Who knows what he'll do to me in my sleep? I'm just gonna rest my eyes.

    Or so I thought.

    RAVEN PACK

    Darco's Point Of View

I'm so sorry, My Lord. I shouldn't have let her out of my sight. I deserve to die, My Lord.
