About this ebook

Ideas are the Currency of Life! They are our golden ticket to wealth.
Ideas are like gases, they need to be containerized or else, they would elude the thinker.
Getting to understand this fact will make a lot of difference between having an idea and going on to execute it and having an idea and losing it. Trust me when I say that every day a lot of good ideas are lost leaving the thinker frustrated. A great thought flashes through your mind and if you let it slip without writing the idea down and looking for all the missing components to help it towards its product or service actualisation, you lose it.

This book can be regarded as a compendium of Ideas Generation, and it provides stepwise advice on how, to generate refine, evaluate, and implement your idea, bearing in mind that you need some inspiration through this process; a process which for a lot of people find very challenging.

This book provides answers to burning questions related to Ideas, including:

What then are ideas?
Where do they come from, or better still, how are they generated?
What are the next steps after generation, unto actualisation?
What is the relevance of Ideas in everyday life & in business?
Can Ideas be managed? If yes, how best are Ideas managed?
Can Ideas be studied using some proven laws of nature?
What role does technology play in the idea-generation process?

This book has been written by an author who faced a lot of challenges inventors face, such as creativity block, self-doubt, and uncertainties about the acceptance of his thought process that birthed this book, and he brings his experience to bear in an easy-to-read way while providing great insights on relatable topics in management.

Ideas are like gases and have a lot of similarities. Would it not be interesting to know how you can apply your knowledge of gases to generate and relate with your ideas? Wouldn't it be great to know what to do when the next great idea pops up?  This book provides these answers.

Gaseous Laws of Business - Otamere Elegon

    ABOUT THIS BOOK

I have written this book out of a great desire to share my insights on how ideas can impact this world even more. What we see around us today are products of ideas. Obviously, ideas are generated the world over, and so the question would be, Why then do we need a book on Ideas?; What this book does for the world is:

Help improve the quality of the ideas that are generated.

Speed up the process of Idea generation to execution.

Show that everyone has it in them to generate impact ideas.

Get everyone to consciously start looking to generate impactful ideas.

This book starts with my understanding of the different categories of people that will encounter this book, which is a representation of people generally across the globe; the Uninterested, The Sceptic, and the Daring.

In "In The Beginning", I share insights into my belief in the original idea created by God Almighty and how humans have an innate ability to generate ideas. This chapter talks about the Law of Idea Generation which will put you in a position to appreciate the vast possibilities that can come with you making a deliberate step in generating your next great idea.

It is daring and revolutionary in its thinking. It once again brings to attention how the physical laws of nature have an impact on human life.

Physical laws are scientific principles that describe the behaviour of matter and energy in the universe. These laws are fundamental to our understanding of the natural world and form the basis of all scientific knowledge.

Physical laws are often expressed in the form of mathematical equations that describe how different phenomena interact and behave. Some well-known physical laws include Newton's laws of motion, the law of conservation of energy, and the laws of thermodynamics.

Physical laws are generally considered to be universal, meaning that they always apply everywhere in the universe. However, our understanding of these laws is not complete, and scientists continue to explore and refine their understanding of the fundamental principles that govern the behaviour of the natural world.

We have for years learned about the Law of Gravity which is an accurate description of the behavior of masses in many situations. This book is not written to develop new physical laws of nature. It is written to show how the physical laws of nature can be applied to our lives as we strive to generate new ideas to make our lives, our communities, and the entire world better.

This book does not serve to be an end but rather a precursor to opening a new world of Idea Generation.

    INTRODUCTION:

There are expectedly going to be three categories of people who see this book. There is the category that will look at the title of this book, and not give it a second thought. They may go as far as reading the abstract or book summary and drop it back on the bookshelf. If the bookseller is around, they might go even further by speaking with the bookseller to get his opinion of this book, especially if he had read it. This category also includes those who will procrastinate about the day of purchase of this book and those who might not have enough funds to purchase this book. Also included in this category are those that feel spending such an amount of money on this book is not a wise investment. They would however prefer to spend the same amount of money on a twenty-minute trip to a fast-food restaurant; I hope they come back another time after their trip to the fast-food restaurant to get something pleasurable that lasts forever.

Secondly, there is the other category of those that will read this book but fail to apply the principles outlined herein; this category of people is made up mostly of the "skeptics of life". They are not quick to try out something new,’ just maintain the status quo’, is a regular cliché amongst them. I don’t know of anybody who goes mountaineering with the purpose of getting to the middle of the mountain and coming right down. I am sure this opinion about maintaining the status quo has worldwide acceptance because a lot of people live life on the average lane, never willing to go the extra mile. They know a lot of the different theories but are unwilling to make their own postulations; I pray they read the good reviews about this book and hear the testimonies from its readers and return to apply the principles in this book.

Finally, and most importantly, there is the category of those who will read my book and move further to apply the principles laid there in; I rejoice with them because these are the people who have what it takes to not only change their destiny but constantly map out a pathway for their evolution. These are the people, who are not satisfied with maintaining the status quo. For this category of readers, laws are meant to be constantly scrutinized to be reproved/repealed or improved on/built on. I congratulate them.

The first time I thought of writing on this subject was in April 2001 (Twenty-Two years before I finally published my work! but I take solace in the fact that there is nothing more potent than an idea whose time has come, as is the case with this one).

I was on my way to see a business associate of mine, when without any form of provocation in my Thinking Faculty; I had a thought about Ideas, and how they are like Gases, and if not effectively containerized they can be lost. Wow. How can ideas then be preserved or kept alive?

When we talk about Gases some things immediately come to mind.

Its volatile nature – Ease of escape

Its indefinite shape – Its awkward nature

Its diffusible nature: Gases diffuse rapidly, meaning they mix quickly and evenly with other gases.

Being like gases, is there a possibility that Ideas can be studied through already laid down scientific laws and principles? This might be important in that if Idea formulation obeys some basic laws of nature, they might be generated with greater ease, concretized, and then utilized.

It is phenomenal the way Ideas are generated, and even more, the way they elude the thinker if taken lightly or ignored.  The wisdom behind this was proven once again because it took me over six weeks before I could get myself to write these first paragraphs.

    What then are ideas?

Where do they come from, or better still, how are they generated?

What are the next steps after generation, unto actualisation?

What is the relevance of Ideas in everyday life?

What is the relevance of Ideas in business circles?

Can Ideas be managed? If yes, how best are Ideas managed?

Can Ideas be studied using some proven laws of nature?

Do Ideas replicate after their own kind?

What role does technology play in the idea-generation process?

These are just a few questions that people are keen to know regarding Ideas. The write-up attempts to provide these insights and many more. It is however not exhaustive because the realm of Ideas is equivalent to the real of life itself and humans live their best lives based on the quality and impactful nature of their ideas.

This book is being positioned as a compendium of Ideas as best. A lot more resides within us.

Chapter One – IN THE BEGINNING

I would be attempting to provide my insights into these questions I raised in the introduction, but first I hope you don't mind us going down memory lane (for those who do not believe in God, you might need to fast forward to the next section. This might mean you finish before those of us who would be reading this section of the book, but it would however take away the import of what is established fact while robbing you of the essence of this illustration which gives rise to the first law of Ideas).

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.  Then God said, Let there be light, and there was light. And God saw the light that it was good, and God divided the light from the darkness.

The above are excerpts from the first book of the Bible, Genesis 1 Verse 3. Out of nothing, there came into existence this wide expanse of space called Earth, with its numerous life forms.

Humans Beings are created in the image of God. A part of this image puts in us the ability to create; to bring into existence, to design (1st Laws of Idea generation -Every human being has an innate ability to generate ideas- simply put; just be born). The mere fact that you are living means that you were created, and as such are bestowed with the ability to generate ideas. There is a general belief of creation ascribed to God. However, if your understanding of the source of your creation is different, it does not take away the fact that being alive means you are empowered to
