8 Universal law

What to expect

In this module we will discover the source of Universal Law and provide a framework for discovery of the individual laws. We will learn more about some of these universal laws. You will learn how to apply the laws and what will happen to you if you ignore Universal law.

Question: What Universal Laws are you already aware of?

The origins of Universal Law

As the name indicates, Universal Law teaches us the laws of the universe that we are aware of. These laws go beyond the earth and this dimension because the laws are eternal. Universal Law explains to us the process of creation. Did you know that out of over eight million species on this earth, only one species has the gift of creation? Mankind is gifted with creation. We do not understand this gift, and we do not understand the consequences of using this gift. Just look around you and see how we waste what should be so precious to us.

To begin with, we do not understand the difference between creation and manifestation. Creation is a process that happens on a different plane, whereas manifestation happens on this plane. There is also a time lag between creation and manifestation, but you will hear more about the details of the creation process in a later module. Maybe the reason why we squander our gift of creation is that we cannot see the creation process, and by the time we see the manifestation we have lost faith in the creation process, or we devalue our gift because we do not understand it and therefore, we misuse this gift of creation. Just one thing I will mention here: yes, it is true that God gave us the gift of creation. So how do our creations differ from God’s creations? There is one major difference. God’s creation is always borne of Love. Yes, we can try to imitate that and also create from Love, but in terms of the capacity to Love, we are light years behind God, and our most inspired creation will still be human.

Our focus here is on becoming aware of the various spiritual laws. Once we have created, we discover the beauty of creation when we apply the Laws of Manifestation. Only then can we see what we have created. Manifestation is a visible process which reflects the result of the creation process.

We then need to learn the Laws of Operation, so that we can use our creations as they were intended and apply them for the benefit of mankind, not just ourselves.

Lastly, we need to apply different universal laws so that we can understand the operation of these laws. In other words, we need to find the wisdom in the experiences we have while learning about the universal laws.

By following these universal laws, we change and grow and gain wisdom.

Most of our lives, we gain wisdom the hard way, by going against the laws. Then, we learn from those experiences of swimming upstream. The next step is to gain awareness of the universal law that we transgressed, and the final step is to find the wisdom from finally following the law.

This is a lifelong process of evolving and growing and maturing as spiritual beings. And the term ‘lifelong’ does not only apply to our earthly lives. The universal laws are eternal and constant. They do not change or go away once we leave our bodies. We cannot change or ignore these universal laws to suit ourselves.

Question: Do you believe in eternal life? What does eternal life mean to you?

How many universal laws are there?

Some people believe there are twelve laws, while others believe there are more than twenty of them.

I do not have a definitive answer for you, because I am still learning. My purpose with this module is to share with you those universal laws that I have become familiar with during my studies and psychic readings over the years.

How did I learn that I was dealing with a universal law? This has often been through psychic readings when the same theme came up repeatedly for different clients. When I initially noticed this repetition across readings for different clients, I thought it was coincidence, but I quickly learnt that there is a difference between coincidence on the one hand and learning from repeating the message on the other hand. Where the message was repeated (to me by means of psychic readings to different clients) I needed to have a look at my own life so that I could identify the patterns and lessons that applied to me. I will focus on these experiences in this module, rather than on simply providing a textbook list of universal laws.

What are the universal laws?

The Law of Creation

In a later module, we will be looking at the creation process and the Law of Creation in much more detail. Here, I will just provide some basic information so that you will recognize when you are dealing with the Law of Creation.

Creation can be a conscious process of picking up a brush and doing a painting while applying all the theory that you have learnt. When this is the case, you can always clearly see what comes from the mind. On the other hand, there are people who can pick up the same brush and without thinking provide one masterpiece after another that will make your heart sing. And I am not only talking about oil paintings or beautiful music. I am talking about people who apply this creation process with their gardening or baking or embroidery. I am talking about those schoolteachers who can teach any child anything, or those medical doctors whose mere presence is a healing experience for their patients. I am even talking about a traffic regulator who puts a smile on the faces of motorists, as opposed to the one who gives you the evil eye and just adds to the stress of motorists waiting for their turn to move on.

I am talking about those creators who are always in the flow of their creation, and whose joy in creation makes this world a better place for everyone. That is where you see the law of creation in action.

Every single one of us is a creator in some way. And yes, the examples I gave here are examples of manifestation rather than creation, but the point I am making is that when you go with the Law of Creation, you become fulfilled when you see the manifestation of your creation.

In tarot, the Magician uses his wand to touch the heavens, and his arm to point to the ground. This has been interpreted as symbolic of the kabbalistic ‘as above, so below’ which means that everything on this earth has its origin in heaven (or rather in another dimension once you understand that heaven is not a place but a state of being in this world). This is the purest form of creativity, and when you open yourself to receiving this flow of creativity, not only are you more productive, but you also enjoy your creation, and the result is that other people are attracted to this purity.

Question: What have you created that felt particularly good to you?

The Law of Manifestation

Once you have completed your creation, the next step is manifestation. Every thought, word and deed are manifestations of your creation process. Without manifestation, your creation will go nowhere, and without creation, there is nothing to manifest. Therefore, the laws of creation and manifestation go hand in hand like the two sides of a coin.

The two sides of this eternal coin are also described as the masculine (creator) and feminine (manifestation).

You will hear people claim that they ‘manifested’ all sorts of things because they have learnt how to do this spiritually, and that means they have access to all sorts of wonderful things that they can simply conjure up by thinking them into being. I often feel that these ‘magicians’ have no idea about the creation process.

Then how do they conjure up what they want when they want those items? Is that not creation? My explanation would be that people who are aware of the Law of Manifestation are also aware of their intuitive abilities - and I am not talking about massive, world-class intuitive abilities.

Let me give you an example. You are aware that there is a different dimension because you have already observed phenomena such as thinking about a person and then the phone rings with this person calling you. That awareness makes you sensitive and gives you confidence. You then ‘decide’ to manifest a car for yourself. What do you do? You meditate about the car you want. You create a vision board to describe the car. You see more and more of these cars on the road. And then, one day, you get this car as a gift, or you hear about a second-hand car that is quite affordable to you. Your conclusion is that you ‘manifested’ a car. My conclusion is that you would have received the car anyway in some or other way, and you simply became aware of the manifestation of something that you did not create.

With the creation process, there is a ‘push and pull effect’ where the creation is ‘pushed’ from another dimension and the manifestation is ‘pulled’ into this dimension. Becoming aware of the manifestation does not confirm that you created the manifested item or situation.

Unfortunately, the manifestation of what you become aware of does not make you a top creator who can conjure up whatever you want. It simply makes you vocal about what you have learnt about the manifestation of God’s creation.

Question: Have you ever needed something or help from someone, and it was provided to you at exactly the right time?

The Law of Attraction

Question: What is your experience of the Law of Attraction?

A few years ago, the book The Secret by Rhonda Byrne spread across the globe like a wildfire. Many people decided to follow the guidelines in the book so that they could fall in love with their ‘twin flame’/get rich quickly/start an extraordinarily successful business and so on.

Is there any truth in the Law of Attraction? There is the expression ‘As above, so below’ which refers to a different dimension of which our existence is a reflection. If you were destined to win the lottery, it can happen - but only if you buy the winning ticket, and that gives you some inkling of what is behind this Law of Attraction. Where is this ‘above’ place?

Another clue to this other dimension is the expression ‘Peace within leads to peace in your life’. Where is this ‘within’ place?

Is any of this based on any scripture? Try this one: Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10 in the Christian Bible). So, it is possible that heaven is not on earth, but somewhere else, and that we attract to this dimension what we become aware of in the other dimension (which is where prayer and meditation comes in).

The Aramaic word abracadabra literally means ‘He has created as he has spoken’. According to Jewish mysticism this refers to manifestation according to the power of words. Now we are onto something - the
