    Introduction

They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. Men of Galilee, they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.

    Acts 1:10–11

We are in a day of change. And change is coming not only in this nation but in the world. The Lord is calling us to be ready, to be prepared for what is coming. And He is calling us to be ready and to be prepared to meet our King. Jesus is coming back. And He is coming back for a church that is without spot or wrinkle.

And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

    Romans 13:11–12

It is important to know God’s Word and pursue His ways. His Son, Jesus the Christ, is preparing for His return. Will we be ready to meet Him? Thankfully, as we turn to Him, He will cleanse us and make us ready.

Our life here is a continual growing process. It is one big classroom. By the way, Jesus is our measuring stick, not each other. We have been called to a higher standard. It is time to glorify God in all we do and in all we say. Someday, we want to hear Him say, Well done, good and faithful servant! (Matthew 25:21)

For a number of years, the Lord has been talking to me about Christ’s return, and my heart gets so full. I am going to share some of those things with you. Maybe they will confirm what He has been saying to you too.

Sometimes when I write, I’ll take what He tells me and put it in my own words. One day He corrected me. He said it is not what I have to say that people want to hear, but it is His words. So, when you see, they will enclose what I heard from the Lord. He also told me that it is not my work, but His work. And we know; it is not our will, but His will that is important.

I heard the Lord say, Come to me, come everyone. Let me hold you. Let me help you. Let me heal your wounds. I will come in great power to restore and bring restoration. There is joy in my heart. Let me impart my joy to you. Come, sense my peace. Be consumed by my love for you. Rejoice in this day.

    ~Chapter One~

    Jesus Is Coming Back

Jesus talked with His disciples about His return. For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done. Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom (Matthew 16:27–28).

A week later, three of His disciples were with Him when He appeared to them in all His glory: After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light (Matthew 17:1–2).

At another time, Jesus’s disciples gathered around him and asked him, Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?" (Acts 1:6).

He said to them: "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive

power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth" (Acts 1:7–8).

Jesus often talked as if He would be returning shortly: Look, I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll (Revelation 22:7). Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done (Revelation 22:12). He who testifies to these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming soon’ (Revelation 22:20).

Many of the writers of the New Testament also made references to Christ’s return, as if they expected it to be in their lifetime. Yet, for two thousand years, people have been expecting Him to come back at any time. And we are still waiting. Something we should consider is time. God does not live in time. He created it for us.

I heard the Lord say, Time comes, and time goes. What is time but a drop in the bucket compared to eternity. My time is eternal. It is never-ending. Time rolls on, but it is your time, not my time. In my time, I will descend once again upon this earth and live among my people.

Something I have noticed, and possibly you may have too, is that the older I get, the faster time seems to go. When I was young, a year could seem like forever. Now a year seems like just a few months in comparison.

As time passes, so does our perception of it. There is something in physics and relativity that explains this scientifically. But anyway, think how long God’s been around—forever—so to Him, a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day (2 Peter 3:8). Which means that when it comes to time, we may not always be on the same wavelength as He is.

In biblical days, there were those who questioned Christ’s return. But there is a good reason why He hasn’t come yet. Peter had an answer for the doubters: The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).

All along, He has been waiting patiently, giving many others the opportunity to be saved. He is looking forward to countless more people enjoying eternity with Him. James wrote, Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming (James 5:7).

During prayer, I heard, "Call all my people, for now is the time. All must know my name. For I come as your reigning King. Now is the time to rejoice. Listen to my words: words of truth, words of sorrow, words of joy. Walk with me. Sing to me. Dance for me. My time to come is soon.Be ready. Prepare now before it is too late. Worship me with your whole heart, for I am your Creator.

Many have turned their backs on me. They say He is not coming back. But here I am, about to return. Will they be serving me or another? Let the world know I’m coming back because I love my people. No more slacking. Look up, for I am coming soon.

The Lord never wants us to forget that one day He is coming again. Maybe you have run into those who laugh at this news or who dismiss it entirely. Peter wrote:

You must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, every thing goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.

    2 Peter 3:3–4

Some may scoff, and some may laugh, but they lack the understanding that this is good news for those who love me. So don’t lose hope. Stay strong. I am with you. You are mine. Walk beside me; I’ll hold your hand.

    Signs of His Coming

"And now the time has come to move forward, to leave the past behind. The end draws near. I will come soon. Prepare for me. See, the time grows short. There is no time to
