Life on Delta Psi
Jack awoke to a deafening sound coming from his alarm clock. It was 0600 and time to get up. As Jack was getting dressed, he remembered that today was the day he began his survival training! Better wear my boots.
Jack mumbled to himself. As Jack walked to his class he went over the Basics
as his dad called it, how to create pots for storage and how to forage were most of what Jack would be using here on Delta Psi. As the structure was designed by humans, they included great forested areas with lakes with fish and berries. Amongst the cute woodland creatures though were predators. To ensure the Herbivores and plant life wouldn't grow out of hand. Though few, these predators are a danger to those practicing survival training, a thought ever echoing in Jacks adolescent mind. Don't get eaten.
At school Jack was intercepted by Mikhael, Jack's best friend, Hey Jack!
Yelled Mikhael.
Aren't you excited for today?! We're going to be placed in the forest with the rest of class to test our survival skills.
Jack replied. Yeah, I'm real excited Jack. Though, I don't know if the rest of the class will be as ready. We've been camping with your parents for years!
Yeah, it may be a big advantage for us given my parents background as scientists.
Jack and Mikhael enter the school together like usual, but Jack can tell something is off today. The school felt as though it was devoid of any emotion. As if they had received some terrible news. The truth was that everyone was worried about the survival test. Every student in the Freshman class was partaking in the event. Be it only 120 Students, they will work together or treat each other as separate tribes in this case. Jack and Mikhael had created their own tribe.
The Survivalnauts!
Mikhael shouted when asked.
We plan to call our tribe the Survivalnauts!
Mr. Clark laughed pretty good about that one.
Jack said as he was
