About this ebook

This is the first book of a two-part series designed to provide valuable moral lessons to children everywhere as they experience various situations while traversing life's pathway. Children always need a sense of direction or redirection, and it is my hope that these could be resolved through the reading of this book.

    FOREWORD

There is always the need for a story once children are around. Besides playing, their next favorite activity seems to be listening to stories. From far and near the cry goes forth, tell me a story please, or can you read me a bedtime story? And once you start the storytelling, their imagination goes to work.

Lots of books have been written in response to the need for good stories, and this is one such book. It has been written to answer the cries of the children who love stories with very graphic illustrations. It is my desire that boys and girls be able to identify with some of the stories’ characters, and learn valuable lessons from them.

Some of the stories are seasonal, and this can be determined by the nature of the activities in which the characters are engaged, or the weather conditions mentioned or alluded to in their settings.

It would be wise to bear this in mind when selecting a story from this book. It is my hope that lives would be brightened, and boys and girls would be enlightened as they are told these stories, or participate in reading them.

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

The process of writing a book of children’s stories can be a very challenging yet rewarding experience. However, these challenges can be easily met if there is support and guidance throughout the process.

Hence, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to my loving husband, Kelvin Emmons, who assisted me in selecting the title of the book, and graciously supplied feedback at the end of each story.

I would also like to express thanks to my kind and caring aunt, Esther Perry, who volunteered to baby-sit for me during my moments of inspiration when I drafted and processed the stories.

Since my children were very understanding and co-operative as I wrote, I would like to praise and thank them for their kindness.

My editors Dr. Ronald Smith and husband Mr. Kelvin Emmons took the time from their busy schedules to read the manu-script and make the necessary corrections, and for this I am ex-tremely appreciative and grateful.

Words are inadequate to express my appreciation to my illustrator, Mr. David Moore. His humility,
