FOREWORD
by Dr. Vincent Nartey Kyere
David S. Kyere is my younger brother, and I respect him for his professional competence in handling issues of tutoring, educating, and guiding students in general, and college students in particular, to cope with the myriad challenges that confront them in their day-to-day routines. Over the years I have followed my brother’s professional progress with keen interest, and I have come to the conclusion that he is on top of his game when it comes to providing the right information to help learners combine their studies with their jobs and get the best out of their endeavors.
His book Yes, I Can: Academic Guidebook for College Success is tailored toward satisfying the needs of college students who combine work with their studies. Such students have to know what professors require of them and be responsive to those demands. The students have to know how to use their time judiciously in order to make the most out of their busy schedules. Equally important is being equipped with the relevant skills of learning and preparing well to pass examinations.
It is my hope that readers will find useful information in the pages of this book that will help them reach their aspirations in this fast-changing world. Learning and working simultaneously have become part and parcel of human endeavors, and any effort to help students find an easy way out of the challenge is welcome news. This is where David S. Kyere’s book will come in handy.
