The Ocean - Anthony G. Martinez
Forgive Me...
Stuck in this oasis
Water as far as my eyes could see
Toes tapping
Water splashing
I feel sad
A cold breeze
Sun setting
Clouds scattered
Orange hue
Forgive me...
As I lay you to rest
Forgive me...
Ocean
It may sound ridiculous
I envy the people who swim in the ocean
I sit on the sand looking, wondering how it feels
Unsure
Unwilling
These emotions I can’t fulfill
I see their faces
They look happy
I want to feel the same
But I sit here quietly, not saying anything
Because I’m replaying their moment under the sun so I could imagine how much they are having fun
I wonder when will I have enough
...
It eats away every day
To watch them experience what makes
