Jesus’ Little Helper
Sabella, a little Greek girl, had moved to Nazareth with her dad named Corban and brother named Jake a few years before this story had happened. Sabella felt lonely at times, but she did make two best friends called Eimi and Gaila who were the sweetest and kindest girls from Nazareth and who knew their scripture and Jesus very well. Eimi and Gaila had introduced Sabella to Jesus many times and she felt so very loved by Jesus. Especially the time when he blessed her with all of the other children and said to suffer the little children to come unto me for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Sadly, not all of the children that lived in Nazareth were nice and there were two particular bullies from Jerusalem and those two boys were called Caleb and Jarius. One night the bullies followed Sabella and her best friends and taunted them, Sabella went home with floods of tears, but her kind-hearted father Corban comforted her and gave to her a very precious gift, which was a little bird who she fell in love with instantly and gave her the name Daisy. This is how the story goes:- One sunny morning Eimi, Gaila and Sabella had woken up very early, the weather was hot and they felt something inside of their heart telling them that something was not quite right, but they had no idea of what could be wrong. Eimi and Gaila came and knocked on Sabella’s door and urged Come on Sabella, get yourself dressed and ready because we have to try to find Jesus
they both had a concerned look on their faces, and Sabella asked Why do you both look and sound so worried
They fretted We just have a dark feeling , that something is not right, that Jesus might be in danger, but we cannot explain why but we need to find him
Sabella shivered Okay. But as long as I can take Daisy with me
Corban smiled Yes you can take Daisy with you sweetheart, but be careful that she will not fly away especially with all the big birds of prey roaming the skies
Sabella smiled thanks daddy
But Corban questioned Before you girls leave this house tell me about this dark feeling that you have about our saviour
Eimi and Gaila explained, We do not know why we feel this way but there is a dark feeling in the air this Friday, Jesus has often spoken of himself as the saviour of the world and we don’t know what he is about to do
. Sabella smiled Well Jesus is a lovely man and wonderful friend, but being the saviour of the world I am not sure about
Corban reassured, Yes my daughter, Jesus is the saviour of the world
he added And Eimi and Gaila don’t worry about Jesus too many sweethearts as I am sure that for now, Jesus will be just fine
Sabella went to Daisy cage and got her out and put her on her shoulder and all three girls ran outside of the house and started to walk a little way, then in a distance, they heard people mocking someone, they ran towards the noises to investigate and to their horror, once they reached those noises, they witnessed Jesus being mocked and spat upon by some nasty soldiers. Sabella looked at Eimi and Gaila with tears flowing down her face and sobbed How dare they do such a nasty thing to such a lovely man, the kind man who welcomed all of us as children
Eimi explained This is what we have been trying to tell you all along, that Jesus is about to suffer greatly and this morning in the very early hours, we were out walking but heard commotion and felt afraid so we hid behind some rocks, and we witnessed even one of Jesus’ best friends come and betray him with a kiss, it was then that the nasty soldiers arrested Jesus, nobody except Jesus saw us hidden behind the rocks and he winked at us and told us not to fret because he was doing all of this for us. Sabella puzzled
What is Jesus doing for us?'' Gaila sniffled We will just have to wait and see
. The taunting sounded louder and louder. A man called Pontius Pilate spoke up and asked: Who do you want to set free Jesus or Barabbas?
The three girls found themselves suddenly joined to the crowd as they screamed and wept with all of their might Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
,but sadly their cries were of no use as the majority had drowned out their sweet and innocent voices and Barabus was set free. Behind the girls stood Caleb and Jaruis, they mocked and teased the girls and Pontius Pilate asked the crowd What shall we do with this Jesus of Nazareth'' the boys agreed with the crowd and smirked,
Crucify him. The three girls put their hands over their ears in distress and great sadness. A soldier guard noticed all of the children and dragged them all to the side away from the crowd and snapped
Go home this is no place for children'' He pushed them all away and they walked back home. The girls got followed by Caleb and Jauris and they snarled Give me your bird or I will grab it from you to make a lovely snack for my hawk
Sabella shrieked No you cannot have Daisy and just leave us alone
they boys carried on mocking and mocked'' As for your lovely friend Jesus he is going to be put to death Luckily and just at the right moment before the horrible boys could reach and grad Daisy from Sabella, Jace her brother had been about looking for her to come home and he told the boys off and snapped
Get lost you cowards who can only pick on little girls, if you dare lay a finger on my sister and her friends, you will have me to answer to The rebuke made the bully boys scarper, but what Sabella did not notice was that Daisy had flown away. Jake turned to Sabella and directed
Sabella you must come back home now, you have been out longer than your father and I had expected and where is Daisy? Daisy looked to her shoulder but Daisy was not on it as she usually was. Sabella wept
Oh no and she ran fast all the way back home and straight into her father’s arms. Corban asked
What is wrong sweetheart why all these tears? Sabella wept
It has been the worst day of my life, firstly my friends and I saw Jesus being mocked and beaten and then trialled for crucifixion and now Daisy has flown away .Corban hugged his daughter close and consoled It is ok sweetheart, we will find Daisy again I promise and as for Jesus I believe that he will live again
Corban, Jace and Sabella all went out of the house again to try and find Jesus and Daisy and to follow Jesus where he was being led to be crucified, but the crowds were so immense, that they found it hard to see Jesus through the crowds, Jesus had probably known what had happened to Daisy and her whereabouts, but getting through the crowds were almost impossible, however, the family was not going to give up trying. High above in the sky were hawks filling the sky and poor little Sabella sat crying and she prayed hard to God to send her Daisy back to her safely, she also prayed for Jesus to be relieved of his sufferings because she deeply loved and cared for Jesus, but the most moving part of her prayer was that she promised God that she would accept Jesus as her saviour and that nothing will come between them but he will be her saviour forever. So, from that day forth she fully gave her heart to Jesus as being her saviour as well as being the friend that he had always been to her. Corban held her close in his arms and they hugged and sat on a rock together, Corban smiled Good girl I am so proud of you for letting Jesus be your saviour, and I know that God will also be taking care of Daisy right now
From a distant they now saw Jesus, cruel soldiers hit nails into Jesus’ hands and feet, Eimi, Gaila, and Sabella now was able to go almost to the foot of the cross, they walked over hand in hand towards the face of the cross and the three girls stood looking on and weeping, as their families joined them. At three in the afternoon Jesus took his last breath and died, the girls wept bitterly and would not leave Jesus, even after his body was taken down and put inside the tomb, the girls followed him outside of the tomb and just stayed there all of Friday night, into Saturday morning, then into that Saturday night, hoping that maybe they would see him alive again somehow and wanting to find Daisy again, but there was still no sign of her anywhere. The three girls along with their families grieved deeply for their saviour and best friend. Suddenly Sunday morning arrived and joy had fallen upon them like a river filled with joyful emotions. They watched as this woman who had woken them up with her loud screams of joy ran very fast and shouting at the top of her voice (He has risen my saviour has risen)she was running back to tell the disciples of Jesus that Jesus was no longer dead, but that he had defeated the grave and lives forevermore and because he died we all can have everlasting life in heaven with him. The three girls approached Jesus smiling and Jesus gave them a big grin back and in his eyes shined pure love, he put his hand up to a twig that was growing out of the tombstone, a little bird came forward and perched unto his hand, with great joy in Sabella’s heart she noticed her Daisy, Jesus smiling handed Daisy back to Sabella, Jesus and the three girls embraced in true love. Jesus smiled "Your little bird although she is such a small creature is a very special little bird, because, throughout my sufferings and death, she noticed that I was lonely, so she decided to follow me all the way to give me her support and friendship, yes your little bird was there for me all of the time, she never left my side, you never noticed her because your eyes had been misted up in your tears as you saw me suffer and die, but even in my death she would just sit by my side and sing me songs from heaven. and as my gift to her, she will have eternal life with you in heaven, therefore you two will never be without each other. Sabella’s heart had melted for what was her most awful day on Friday, turned out to be the best day of her life on Sunday. Now Jesus was her saviour and Jesus can be your saviour to if you will let him be.
