    God Cares About You

God cares about those who grieve and mourn. He cares about you. He cares about your thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and all that concerns you during a season of grief and mourning. In this season of learning to deal with the loss of a loved one, lean deeply into the Father and His covenant promise to be with you always. With all you have, make a consistent effort to cast every care, worry, fear, or thoughts of doubt on God. Take hold of every word and scripture of this devotion written just for you. And always remember…God Cares About You!

    Day 1

Scripture: Isaiah 61:3 (NIV) says, And provide for those who grieve in Zion to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.

Message: When Israel mourned, God had a plan to crown His people with His Spirit of joy and praise. God's Spirit of joy and praise is infinite in all seasons and can extend through the most challenging times even in grief and mourning. God still has this plan today for His people who grieve and mourn. Yes, God has a plan for your life to establish you with His Spirit of joy and praise. God's Word and promises are consistent for His people. He has no desire to leave us in a season or time of mourning, despair, and grief. God desires to bestow His oil of joy and Spirit of praise on our lives and all things under our care. Though grieving and mourning is a normal process and journey in life everyone as a child of God will experience, this will not be your destination. You will recover in Christ and remain planted for all the glory that will come after this time. Believe and receive this today!

Prayer: Thank You, Father God, for Your Spirit of joy and praise. Help me, Father God, to receive Your oil of joy and Spirit of praise. I also pray for the strength I need to stay planted and rooted in You. Let Your glory be revealed in my life during this time. In Jesus's name, AMEN!

    Day 2

Scripture: Ecclesiastes 3:4 (NIV) says, A time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance.

Message: Your life will go through many seasonal changes. These seasonal changes will sometimes include loss and mourning. Mourning the loss of a loved one is inevitable, and at some point or another, everyone experiences this because death is inevitable. The circumstances may not always seem fair, and sometimes, the timing of death is unexpected, but God promises His people He will never leave or abandon us. As you take each day one by one through this time of mourning, may you know and always remember the Father is with you to guide you and comfort you.

Prayer: Thank You, Father God, that my times and seasons are in Your hands. I pray for Your divine presence and strength in this season of mourning and grief for my life. Your Word promises peace, comfort, and Your continual love. I pray that Your peace, comfort, and everlasting love are released on me today. Help me to navigate this time in my life and show me that You are with me always. In Jesus's name, AMEN!

    Journal Moments: FREE WRITE.

    Day 3

Scripture: Matthew 5:4 (NIV) says, Blessed are those who mourn, because they will be comforted.

The Father: I desire to comfort you. I desire that you draw near Me so I can draw even closer to you. Do not allow your heart to become angry with Me, because I am not angry with you. Do not allow disbelief in My Word and promises to overcome you. Nothing takes Me by surprise. This is why I desire to comfort My people during their most challenging times. I am ready to bless and comfort you during this time with all the things I know you need and desire. Remember, nothing can separate you from the unfailing love, kindness, and comfort I desire to release to you.

Prayer: Father, help me to receive, feel, and be aware of Your comfort during this time in my life. When stress, sadness, and disbelief attempt to overtake me, let Your Spirit of comfort and love pursue me endlessly. Help me to keep my focus on You instead of my fears and doubt. As I draw near You in this prayer, draw near to me. In Jesus's name, AMEN!

    Day 4

Scripture: Psalm 34:17–19 (NIV) says, The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them, He delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.

The Father: Cry out to Me. I draw near to My people who are crushed and low in spirit. It's My desire to comfort you and bring you peace and protection during your times of trouble and sorrow. I am near to the brokenhearted. Since you belong to Me, I am near you. Continue to cry out to Me. The work of My hands wants to move for My people when they call to Me. I can only do this when you desire for Me to do so and trust Me that I can. I say to you today call to Me and trust Me to mend those things that attempt to bring you low.

Prayer: Father, Your Word says that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who have a crushed spirit. I admit, Father God, that I do not feel my best now, and I need You. I need You to provide Your strength, peace, and endurance during this time. Extend Your grace to me as I take each day one by one and build my faith and reassurance that You will never abandon me but build me in You. In Jesus's name, AMEN!

Journal Moments: What do you need to cry out to God with today? Be honest and transparent. Communicate this with God.

    Day 5

Scripture: Isaiah 51:11 (AMP) says, So the redeemed of the Lord will return. And come with joyful shouting to Zion; Everlasting joy will be on their heads. They will obtain gladness and joy, And sorrow and sighing will flee away.

Message: The chapter verse ends with God's people sadness coming to an end. Throughout the Bible, we see God's people going through times of grief, discomfort, troubles, and many other challenges. However, the sorrow and challenging seasons eventually go away. In this time of grief over the loss of your loved one, know this feeling of sorrow and sadness will not be forever. Although mourning and grief are normal processes apart of life, be confident that the feeling of sadness will not be forever. But as God's Word testifies for His people, seasons of sadness and distress will not and cannot remain. You have been redeemed in the Lord, and you will know and experience His everlasting joy for your life and all things under your care. Believe and receive this today.

Prayer: Thank You, Father, that I have been redeemed by Your power. Thank You that sorrow and distress cannot have a hold on me forever. Help me to receive the joy You desire for me. In Jesus's name, AMEN!

    Day 6

Scripture: 1 Samuel 30:4–6 (AMP) says, Then David and the people who were with him raised their voices and wept until they were too exhausted to weep [any longer]; but David felt strengthened and encouraged in the Lord his God.

Message: David cried bitterly when his enemies raided and abducted the women and children of his home and destroyed a great majority of everything he was entrusted to steward. The scripture emphasizes that David and his men cried until they could not cry any longer. You might be in a place right now where you are crying until you feel like you have no more tears to cry or sorrow to release. However, several verses later, David suddenly felt the strength and encouragement from God to press forward in life. Does this mean David no longer grieved? No, but it brings reassurance that our Heavenly Father is ready to cover us in our most challenging times. God wants and desires to give you this same strength and encouragement during this period in your life. Lean consistently in the Father seeking His strength, encouragement, and comfort. What is too hard for you to carry, God is ready to take the load and carry it Himself. Cast every care consistently on He because He cares for you.

Prayer: I thank You, Father, that it is Your will for my life to be strengthened and encouraged in you. I open my heart, mind, and soul to You and pray for Your sudden strength and encouragement. Keep me covered under Your wings and show Yourself continually strong on my behalf. In Jesus's name, amen.

Journal Moments: Where do you need to see God's strength and encouragement in your life? Be honest and transparent. Communicate this with God.

    Day 7

Scripture: Deuteronomy 31:8 (AMP) says, It is the Lord who goes before you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or abandon you. Do not fear or be dismayed.

The Father: My heart and will long to be with you always. So many times, when My children encounter the challenges and temptations of life, they believe I am no longer with them. They believe that I am punishing them. They believe I have forgotten them. But I tell you today I will not fail or abandon you. You have no reason to fear because I am with you always. Continue to draw near to Me, to be able to know, hear, and discern My will and way for your life. I ask that you lean into Me today. I love you.

Prayer: Thank You, Father, God that You will never abandon. Your Word promises that You will not fail me. Do not fail me, Father, as I seek and lean into You during this time. Show Yourself strong on my behalf and be my help during this time. I look to You, Father, to guide me. In Jesus's name, AMEN!

Journal Moments: In what area of Your life do you believe or feel God has abandoned you or forgotten about you? Be honest and transparent. Communicate this with God, and cast this care continually on the Father.

    Day 8

Scripture: Romans 12:15 (AMP) says, Rejoice with those who rejoice [sharing others' joy], and weep with those who weep [sharing others' grief].

Message: It's great to be surrounded by a community of believers to rejoice with in times of celebrations or accomplishments. It's even greater to have a strong solid community of believers to be surrounded by in times of grief and mourning. Sometimes, during grieving, we tend to push people away. We do not want to be a burden to someone else with our sorrow and pain. But as scripture reads, Weep with those who weep. Allow people to surround you with their grace, love, and service during this time. Be willing to be open to those who God has sent to you during this time. Be open for prayer, encouragement, and wise words which help produce the life of God in your life and restore your faith in Him. Do not allow the heaviness of this time to compel you to push people away, but as the scripture teaches, weep with those who weep. Grant others the access to mourn with you and help keep you sustained!

Prayer: Thank You, Father God, for the people that You have brought me and will bring to me during this time of grieving. Help me not to push away the people You send to me to give me comfort and support. Help me to know they are pure in heart and that I do not have to go through this time alone. I also pray for Your blessings upon those who are and will support me during this time. In Jesus's name, AMEN!

    Journal Moments: FREE WRITE.

    Day 9

Scripture: Romans 15:13 (NLT) says, I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Father: Hope in Me is needed as you walk through this time in your life. Trust Me for the peace you need, the provision you need, and the right company of people to serve you. I am with you, and I am for you. Receive the power of My Holy Spirit to release the confidence you need to have continuous hope in Me during this time.

Prayer: Father God, when I am feeling hopeless and in despair, You renew and release Your hope and faith in me again. Remind me of Your unfailing Word and provide me the hope I need to continually know and be aware of in all life's circumstances. Allow Your Holy Spirit to overfill me with Your hope that my will, will always be in You and with You. In Jesus's name, AMEN!

    Journal Moments: FREE WRITE.

    Day 10

Scripture: Joshua 1:9 (NLT) says, This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

The Father: Yes, I am still with you. I make an effort every day that you are given to let you know I am with you. I will continue My efforts daily for all My people. My Word does not change simply because a period or season of your life has shifted. I shift with you, and when life grievances and challenges come, may you always remember I Am with you. You are free to be strong and courageous in Me because I rejoice and desire to give you the strength you need.

Prayer: Thank You, Father God, for being with me wherever I go. When those besetting times come in to make me feel alone, crushed, and weary, give me a sign that You are with me. Help me to keep my focus on You for the strength and courage I need to endure. I trust You, God, to lead me. In Jesus's name, AMEN!

Journal Moments: In previous seasons of your life, what has God done or revealed to let you know He was with you? How can you position yourself to become more aware of His presence? Communicate this with God.

    Day 11

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 1:3–4 (NLT) says, All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.

Message: How delightful is it that the Creator of the universe desires to comfort us. God is the source of all comfort. He desires to comfort us in our most challenging times. The scripture reveals that God comforting us will teach us how to comfort others. You may not believe or even feel it now, but as God comforts you during this time, He will lead you to comfort others because you will remember exactly what the Father has done for you. So soak in the presence of God. Receive His love, kindness, and guidance for your life during this season. Do not withdraw. Do not allow doubtful and fearful thoughts to manifest but only the reassurance of God's peace, comfort, and strength for your life and all things under your care.

Prayer: I pray consistently for your comfort, Father God, during this time. Though I do not feel like comforting others right now, I pray for the wisdom I will need when the day comes. Make me aware of Your presence and power in my life always. In Jesus's name, AMEN!

    Day 12

Scripture: Matthew 11:28–30 (NLT) says, Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.'

The Father: You do not have to carry the weight of heavy burdens by yourself. Remember, I take delight in the prosperity of My people. The prosperity I provide My people with is not merely to focus on monetary value, but it is for every aspect of your life. My will is that you prosper physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Release every heavy burden you have now on Me so I can give you rest. Again, this is My will and desire for you.

Prayer: Father God, I release every burden I hold in my heart, mind, and soul to You right now. I pray that you Help to practice this release daily when challenges or situations come to persuade me that You are not enough to provide the rest I need. I seek and receive Your way to have me prosper physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. In Jesus's name, AMEN!

    Day 13

Scripture: Psalm 23:1–2 (NLT) says, The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, to guide and to shield me], I shall not want. He lets me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still and quiet waters.

Message: Hallelujah! The living God is our Shepherd. Shepherds have a heart for their sheep. Shepherds watch, attend, provide, and protect their sheep. God has this same heart for you. When worry, doubt, fear, and confusion try to consume our lives, God's faithful Word reassures us that we lack nothing and that He leads us beside the still or quiet waters. In challenging seasons or times when we feel or believe as if we are down to nothing, God's Word testifies that we will not want for anything. His Word testifies about His provisions and capability to provide all of our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. Message: Glory! Yes, God is your strength and protection in challenging and troubling times. You have no reason to fear because God is with you. Though this time of grief may cause you to panic, fear, or bring doubt as your life has shifted, be assured God is present. The ways to bring you comfort, peace, joy, and strength. My ways also bring divine wisdom and direction. I can only reveal these things when you give Me permission to move on your behalf. Message: It's great to know we can put God in remembrance of His Word. Yes, we can remind God of what He said and has promised us. God's Word of promises preserves our life. Therefore, it's important to know God's Word so that we can know the promises He has made for us all. His promises are for you. The promise of peace, understanding, provision, protection, comfort, healing, and much more. Put God in remembrance of His Word and precious promises for your life. He promises will not fail you but comfort you and meet and exceed every need and desire you have and all things under your care!

Prayer: I thank You, Father, for every precious promise You have made for me. Your Word cannot return to You void. As I reflect on Your Word and promises for my life, extend Your hope and grace to me to build me up. Let me be fully established and persuaded in Your will, Word, and promises. Day 18

Scripture: John 14:16–17 (NIV) says, And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

Message: God has provided us with His precious Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is also our Comforter. As the verse reads the Holy Spirit advocates for us and releases God's truth. When the enemy tries to attack us with his lies, doubts, accusations, regret, mistakes, or unwise decisions we have made, the Holy Spirit establishes God's Word and truth in our lives to keep us planted in Him. You may be feeling, thinking, and believing a lot of things contrary to God's Word right now, but know God's Holy Spirit is with you. God's Spirit is with you to advocate, comfort, and bring you the truth of God's Word for your life. Receive God's Spirit of truth for your life today. That which is negative, doubting, hateful, full of regret, and anxious is not of the Father. Only that which builds you up encourages and guides you into God's will is from the Father. Rid yourself of that which is not of the Father, and hold on to His Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth.

Prayer: Thank You, Father, for Your Holy Spirit. I receive Your Holy Spirit into my life today. I receive comfort and advocacy from the Holy Spirit. Let Your Holy Spirit be my continual guide
