Songs of Deliverance, Faith Journey of an American Nurse in Thailand - Linda Cox Gibson
This book is dedicated to Lila Cox, mother and spiritual mentor, who impressed on my young spirit the importance of a close walk with God through hiding His Word in my heart. To my daughter, Kimberly, who edited this work and coached my writing. To my daughter, Kaitlyn, now using her nursing skills at the same place in Thailand where most of these stories took place. And to John, my husband and personal physician these past 45 years.

Humble Beginnings
In my distress, I cried to the Lord, and He heard me!
Psalm 120:1 (NKJV)
Allow me to introduce myself: Linda Diane Cox, born exactly on my due date, October 8, 1956, in Corpus Christi, Texas, USA. Many years later in Latin class I realized that, literally, I was born in The Body of Christ.
What an excellent start in life! Since then until present day, I cannot remember a time in my life when I did not love Jesus.
The earliest event I recall from childhood was that, as a toddler in Texas, I wandered from our backyard play area, through a construction zone and past a lake. Mom frantically informed Dad that I had gone missing. Dad’s office employees and Mom’s friends joined the search. They were calling in the police to drag a net in that lake when Dad found me curled up asleep beside a stack of roofing tiles. I exclaimed to him: ‘I cried and I cried ‘Help! Help!’
As a small girl I knew the Lord Jesus heard me when no one else could.
That sequence has repeated itself on numerous adventuressince then and in that order:
I gave up trying in my own strength.
I cried out to my Father for help.
The LORD heard me and answered!
