About this ebook
My story begins with a package that was sent to me by a prospector named One-Tooth. One night, as we sat together by a campfire, hementioned that if he found anything of interest, he would send it my way. He knew that I was searching for spiritual artifacts in New Mexico. The package contained a long, large animal tooth, a curious lock of hair, a map and several pages written on animal skin. I examined the tooth and the hair in my laboratory.I was astounded at my findings. I tested my equipment to make sure it was reading the DNA and Bone Carbon Dating correctly. Every instrument was working properly and calibrated exactly. I sat in my chair and stared at the tooth and hair longer than I care to admit. What I held in my hands was undeniably incredible. I couldn't believe my findings, but there was the indisputable data right there in front of me. I finally put the tooth and hair aside and started to decipher the skins. What I found in them put me in awe. I transcribed them and put them in an airtight container to preserve them. I had no choice but to leave for New Mexico immediately to find One-Tooth and make him show me where he discovered what he sent. I had a feeling this would lead me on a wild, wondrous and captivating adventure.

The Order Of Things:
An Indian Legend
By Robert Marquiss
Prolog: How it started
The year was 1992 when I made a fantastic discovery. I am Dr. Philip Lloyds an archaeologist and anthropologist from New York. Having traveled out west many times to look for artifacts and study early primitive cultures, I made friends with many people. One was an old prospector named One-Tooth Hector, a very wise and carefree soul. One night, talking by a camp fire, I told him of various things I was looking for. He promised that if he ever found anything interesting he would send it my way. About three months later, on a Monday (I believe it was a Monday), I received a package from him. It contained a short letter with a map, an artifact consisting of writing on animal skins, a lock of some kind of hair and a very large animal tooth.
When I read what was written on the skins, I was astonished. I called it artifact one. It took a lot of time to decipher as parts of the skins were hard to read. What you see is not the original. I retyped the story, matched how it would look on an animal skin and added photos. I did this so the original would be safe in a special airtight, temperature controlled container and the copied artifact could be viewed at the Mesa Museum.
Then I took the tooth to my private lab to check the DNA so I knew what I was really dealing with. It was an animal tooth all right, but it also contained human DNA. It was the same with the hair sample. That’s impossible, but there it was, right in front of me. My instruments don’t lie — and look at this artifact! I’m on my way to see One-Tooth Hector!

Chapter 1: A new beginning
It's December in the New Mexico desert near dusk. A light breeze is blowing from the east sending small wisps of dust clouds into the chilled air. Joe, a weathered looking cowboy, about forty years of age, is walking through a gully looking for
