Chapter One

Leanna

"We have three hundred chintris for the human female, three hundred, surely we can do more! Remember, these creatures are forbidden. Wild and made for pleasing males. Their bodies are filled with warm holes that ache to be filled—"

A rough voice cuts him off, Four hundred!

Five! comes a garbled one.

Six! shouts one that seems to echo through my mind.

Trembling, I open my eyes slowly. The creature’s words cut through my pain-filled fog. This is the first time their strange sounds have made sense, which means the aching thing they implanted in my ear must have been some kind of translator.

Then, I stiffen, actually processing their words. Are they... are they bidding on me? For... holy shit, they’re selling me as some kind of sex slave?

This can’t be happening. People have nightmares about stuff like this, but then they wake up in their own beds. So, wake up, Leanna!

I look around, reality sinking in. This is no nightmare, and I’m not just going to wake up. I’m in some kind of ship in the middle of space, surrounded by aliens who plan to use me for their own pleasure.

Glancing down at myself, my stomach twists, and I cover my body with my hands. I’m also naked. How the hell did I end up naked?

Disjointed memories come to me of the last few days, of the aliens, of the cage, but all of it is blurry. And none of it really matters. I can’t waste energy on how I got here; I need to figure out how to escape.

I drown out the voices and look down at the thick chain tying me to the ground. Subtly I pull on it, but it’s held tightly. My brain starts turning as my gaze moves over the crowd of frightening-looking creatures. Some aliens that almost look humans. Others that resemble nothing I’ve ever seen before.

I can’t let myself be sold as a sex slave. I won’t. But how do I get free?

I can’t break this chain. Which means the second I have a chance to run for it, I’m going to, even if I have no clue where I’m going.
