Big Hard Tools - Sebastian Davidson

    Big Hard Tools

    By Sebastian Davidson

As soon as I walked onto the construction site, I knew I was out of my depth. The noise of the hammers and drills filled the air, blending together into a deafening cacophony. The workers moved with a practiced ease, their muscles rippling under their shirts as they lifted and carried heavy tools and machinery.

I tried to look confident as I strode up to the foreman, a burly man with a thick beard and a stern expression.

Hey there, I said, my voice loud enough to be heard over the noise. My name is Alex. I'm here to start work today.

The foreman grunted and looked me up and down, sizing me up. You're the new guy, huh? Well, we could use some fresh blood around here.

He turned and gestured towards a man who was standing a few feet away, his back to us. That's your boss over there. Go introduce yourself.

I nodded obediently and made my way over to the man. As I got closer, I could see that he was tall and muscular, with broad shoulders and a chiseled jawline. He was wearing a tight-fitting tank top and denim shorts that showed off his tanned and toned skin.

Hey there, I said, holding out my hand. My name is Alex. I just started here today.

The man turned around and I found myself looking into a pair of piercing blue eyes. A smile spread across his lips as he took my hand in a firm grip.

Pleased to meet you, Alex, he said, his voice deep and husky. I'm Adam.

I felt a jolt of electricity shoot through me at the sound of his voice, and I realized that I was holding onto his hand for longer than was strictly necessary.

Um, yeah, I said, pulling my hand back. Nice to meet you too.

Adam grinned and slapped me playfully on the shoulder. You're gonna fit right in around here, I can tell.

I felt a flush creeping up my cheeks as I realized that I was already getting a crush on my new boss. This was definitely not what I had been expecting when I signed up for this job.

    ---

Alex was nervous on his first day of work. The last thing he wanted was to make a mistake. He was eager to impress his new boss, Adam, and show him what he was capable of. As he walked onto the construction site, he felt a sense of excitement and anticipation.

Adam greeted Alex with a smile. Glad to have you on board, Alex. You're going to be working with a great crew.

Alex felt a flutter in his stomach as he looked up at Adam. He was tall and muscular, with dark hair and piercing blue eyes. Alex found himself getting lost in those eyes and had to remind himself to focus on the job at hand.

The crew was already hard at work, and Alex was eager to join them. He put on his hard hat and gloves and got to work. But it wasn't long before he made a mistake. He underestimated the weight of a piece of machinery and dropped it accidentally, causing damage to a nearby structure.

Adam was quick to notice the mistake and approached Alex. What happened here, Alex? You know better than to be careless with the equipment.

Alex hung his head in shame. I'm sorry, Adam. It won't happen again.

Adam's tone softened slightly. I know you're new and still learning. But mistakes like this can't happen. I'm going to have to put you on cleanup duty for the rest of the day. Make sure to pay more attention from now on.

Alex nodded, feeling embarrassed and disappointed in himself. He wanted to impress Adam, but instead, he had made a mistake. As he spent the rest of the day cleaning up, he couldn't help but feel like he had let Adam down.

Will Alex be able to redeem himself in the eyes of his boss and earn his respect? Only time will tell.

Alex tries to focus on his work but can't help feeling distracted by his boss. Adam is so confident and in control, and Alex is drawn to him. He watches Adam barking orders and giving direction, admiring the way his muscles bulge underneath his work shirt.

As the day wears on, Alex starts to feel a flutter in his stomach every time Adam looks his way. He wonders if he's just imagining things or if Adam might be feeling the same way.

At lunchtime, Alex sits down at a picnic table with the other guys on the crew. They're a friendly bunch, but he feels like an outsider. He can't stop glancing over at Adam, who is sitting a few tables away with a stern expression on his face.

One of the guys, a burly man with a thick beard, nudges Alex with his elbow. Hey, you been checking out the boss, huh? he says with a smirk.

Alex feels his face flush. Uh, no, I mean...I was just...

The man laughs. Relax, man. We all know he's a hottie. But don't get any ideas, he's got a girlfriend.

Alex feels a pang of disappointment. Of course Adam is straight. Why would he even entertain the notion that they could have something more than a boss-employee relationship?

The rest of the afternoon drags on, and Alex is grateful when quitting time finally arrives. He's about to head out to his car when he hears a voice behind him.

Hey, Alex. Can I talk to you for a minute?

He turns to see Adam approaching him, his blue eyes piercing. Sure, Alex says, trying to keep his voice steady.

Adam motions for him to follow him to a storage shed at the side of the construction site. Once they're inside,
