As soon as Carlos walked into the room, the man could feel his eyes on him. He tried to play it cool, but he couldn't resist smiling at the way Carlos's muscular arms filled out his grey t-shirt.

Hey, man, Carlos said, extending his hand. I'm Carlos.

The man took his hand and felt a jolt of electricity shoot up his arm. Nice to meet you. I'm James.

They made small talk for a few minutes, but the man could tell Carlos was distracted. Finally, he blurted out, I just broke up with my girlfriend.

James didn't know how to respond. He had never been in a relationship himself, let alone had to console someone who had just gone through a breakup. I'm sorry, man, he said, patting Carlos's shoulder awkwardly.

Carlos shrugged. It's okay. I'm just...tired of all the drama, you know? I feel like I'm always trying to please someone else instead of being true to myself.

James could relate to that. He had spent most of his life hiding his true feelings from his family and friends. But now, talking to Carlos, he felt like he could be himself completely.

Listen, he said, gesturing to Carlos. You seem like a cool guy. Let's hang out sometime. I know a great pizza place nearby.

Carlos's eyes lit up. I'd like that.

They exchanged numbers and went their separate ways, but the man couldn't shake the feeling that they had a connection.

James was shocked at first, but then the floodgates opened. He pulled Carlos closer, deepening the kiss, and felt a rush of desire he had never known before.

When they finally broke apart, panting and gasping for air, James knew there was no going back. He wanted Carlos. And, it seemed, Carlos wanted him just as badly.

Carlos smiled, his eyes lighting up with hope. Really?

Yes, really. I've been struggling with the fact that you're straight and worried about what that would mean for us, but if you're questioning your sexuality, then maybe there's a chance for us, James said, feeling a weight lifted off his shoulders.
