About this ebook
Ferry Cannon
I was born and raised in North Memphis Tennessee in a family of 10. I had seven older brothers and sisters who along with my Parents taught me at an early age that the three most important things in life were GOD, Health and Wealth and I have always stood on those principals. I spent my 7th – 9th grade years at East High School and later graduated from Treadwell High school in 2001. In 2002 I joined the United States Navy and served my country for 15 years. During that time I served on 3 different ships and deployed many times across the Atlantic to many different countries, met lots of friends and saw so many things a few of which you will soon read in this book. I want to thank GOD, my beautiful Wife, family and those I served with that help inspire this book. THANK YOU!

WELCOME ABOARD
38543.png A normal Saturday night in the Navy. After boot camp, I arrived at my first duty station, USS BINGHAMPTON DDG 901. I didn’t know my way around the base and the only thing to do was head to Wind and Sea. This was the go-to spot for new Sailors to watch free movies, play pool, play video games, surf the web, etc…A place to get over being away from home. Luckily for me, I met a few sailors from back in Memphis who knew the city and got me away from that boring-ass depression hole. My name is Seaman Tony, Aka Typo. I worked in the admin office and was the one always correcting everybody else fuck ups. This particular Saturday night, I linked up with my homeboy from New York, Petty Officer Powell Aka Po’boy, a crazy ass white boy from the Bronx, and his little Sister’s boyfriend from North Memphis Gunner Kojak Aka Snipe, a real sharpshooter who could hit any target 50 miles away with a slingshot. They had plans to go to the club, and I was off work until Monday morning, so I said let’s do it! Po’boy had a nice ass crib outside the base, so we pregamed at his crib and then headed to a club in Virginia Beach called The Wave. Kojack hopped in the Suburban with Po’boy, and I caught a ride with my other homeboy from South Memphis, Seaman Taylor, Aka Black. I have to say this club was off the hook, jumping, lit, or whatever you want to call it. Women everywhere looked at us crazy at first because we were all clean-shaven, and they knew we were military, but after they saw all the bottles we were popping in VIP because of Po’boy, they thought we were some ballers and flooded the VIP. If they only knew we were seamen in the Navy with probably $300 between all of us, but we had the baller image! We partied and turned up super hard all night. People from all shades and colors, a real mixed crowd. Hearing hip-hop classics from back home made me feel normal again for a few hours. When it was time to leave the club, I ended up riding with Po’boy and Snipe because my boy Blac met with some young lady in VIP, and she invited him back to her house. Although he told me he was heading to the restroom, I got a call 30 minutes later saying he had left the club. So, the lights come on, DJ makes the last call for alcohol, and we can see what the pretty girls in the dark really look like. No girls for us, though, because Po’boy was tipsy and Gunner had passed out, so we figured he was drunk. I suddenly became the designated driver because I had maybe one or two watered-down drinks and felt just fine. As a joke, we decided to lay Snipe in the trunk of the suburban, and we drove away, headed back to Po’boy’s crib. While driving, I looked in my rear-view mirror and noticed a black Tahoe on our ass. I switched lanes, and they got right behind us again. It’s 3 am on a dark back road; this has to either be the police or jack boys, and either way, I was nervous as shit. I tapped Po’boy really hard and said, A yo Po, somebody on our ass dog wake up!
As he looked back, the Tahoe flashed bright ass lights and blinded us as another black pickup truck cut us off from the front. I was thinking oh shit; we are about to get jacked. I hit the brakes real hard just in enough time not to hit the pickup! Damn
, Po’boy said, these MF’s got me.
