If you pause for a moment and look out into space on a clear night, you will be reminded that there is something much more magnificent and extraordinarily greater than you and your life. This sense of something higher in consciousness often influences you, although you may not recognize it. While looking into deep space or deep within yourself, you will not realize the essence or intent of your life unless your mind is free of all agreements, beliefs, and opinions about what life is. If you want to understand life, especially your life’s meaning, you must be willing to challenge your conditioned mind.
Despite many compelling ideas, theories, and beliefs about the beginning of life, no one truly knows how we came to be. Many religious and scientific institutions claim to know for sure, but this often exposes their righteous indignation for the other theories or beliefs. In the most straightforward explanation, leaving out all religious beliefs, superstitions, and assumptions, we know something spectacular happened a long time ago, which allowed us to be. For me, this basic understanding of human origins is enough to motivate my search for meaning. For others, more evidence may be required.

INTRODUCTION

Your life, both as a spiritual being and a living form, flows from an uninterrupted stream of consciousness. You are physically, emotionally, and spiritually connected to your parents, your grandparents, and many great-grandparents. This magnificent relationship links you to the origin of all life. The force that brought you here breathed life through the epoch with no gaps or pauses directly into the present moment where you exist right now. Despite nature’s variations, trials, accidents, contradictions, and events that are disruptive to the process of life, you are here at this moment. You know that you exist, but you may not know why. You may want to find out who you are and why you are here at some point in your life. Beyond any doubt, you are more than just another offspring of the stream of life that will simply live and die.

The purpose of this book is to reorient a person toward a higher source so it can guide them to understand their unique meaning and purpose. By choosing to reassess your beliefs, you can unleash the power of surrender, learning, understanding, and renewal in your life. Reality is under no obligation to make sense to you, but this should not cause you to cling to beliefs for comfort and safety. It is possible for you to courageously open your mind to new ideas, possibilities, and a better way of life.

Chapter One

The Universe

In the beginning, a mysterious source of energy violently broke free from total darkness and emptiness. This event was the origin of all life as we know it. Although this cosmic awakening began billions of years ago, it is still active within you at this moment. Sadly, due to our constant stream of thoughts, we are estranged from this higher source of life, a source that desires our alignment with a conscious state of being. You can represent a pure state of consciousness, but you must awaken from a deep sleep to unleash this power. The source of life is trying to motivate your life into a higher state of being. Right now, you can harness this energy field and realize an understanding of life’s meaning that is truly alive.

The best evidence of life’s beginning is found in the astronomical phenomenon known as the Doppler Effect and Redshift. With a telescope, we can see that light from celestial objects is moving away from us because its light is shifted to red in the color spectrum. The redshift of the objects tells us they are moving outward and away from their source. Because objects in the Universe are moving away from a source, we can imagine a reversal of the events back to a single event. This original point of origin is responsible for the form-based reality in which we live. This orchestrated dispersal of matter created everything, including the fantastic process of life. Life’s energy is observable in the galaxies, stars, planets, and all matter down to the atomic level. This event, known as The Singularity, was responsible for an incomprehensible process that formed a galaxy and the majestic rhythms of organic life. Throughout this period of expansion, lifeforms continue to be born, changed, and then destroyed. The process has never ceased producing more life.

The energy field responsible for life has flowed from a single event as if it is searching for something. The expansive energy of the Cosmos produced new creations, including the seemingly irrelevant, vulnerable, and powerless objects of life here on Earth. The vigor of life flows into the accumulation of cosmic expressions, such as the galaxies, stars, and planets, as if it was inevitable that it could not fail at producing a single collision where all the majesty and beauty of life could take place. Human life seems so insignificant when contrasted against the backdrop of the Cosmos. Still, we must explore how all this grandeur is connected to the development of our mind, body, spirit, and purpose.

Because recent technological advancements have provided an opportunity for civilizations to communicate and, therefore, share ideas and express both their consciousness and unconsciousness, there seems to be an acceleration of the awakening process. Although this book is about the individual’s opportunities and responsibilities within an awakening process, we must also consider the possibility of a collective breakdown caused by the expansion and collapse of many unconscious institutions on the planet. We all live as members of many unconscious collectives such as government, politics, and religious belief systems. Since the evolving process of life is motivated by human communication, any advancement in this ability will influence the collective conditioning. Since advances in communication can cause a shift in consciousness within the groups, they may experience an awakening and the destruction that precedes it. Fortunately, when a kingdom falls, the surrendered can survive the collapse.

We could become overly concerned about the world and its cold condition. You should not worry about the expansion or the collapse of the foundations of the world. The state of the economy, government and political turmoil, and religious influence are an essential part of how you form your identity. If you surrender your relationship with the dark institutions of this planet, you will be insulated from the imaginations of a seething world. Without a doubt, disconnecting from the concerns of the world is a prerequisite for your transcendence. The higher force of life is a seed of consciousness that wants to flower into something new. The awakening process seeks the fertile soil—the hallowed ground, where all its intentions can take place.

Much like the Earth, the human being symbolizes the fertile soil that must be made ready for life. Although this is a living foundation for eternal life, you must first become habitable so a higher force of will can dwell in your space. Your conditioned thoughts isolate you from this immortal understanding of life’s meaning. Until you give up your independent and separate identity, you will continue to represent a being that props up a life that can never be made whole—one that can never become fruitful.

Incredibly, the event that sparked the formation of the Universe is trying to repeat itself within all human beings; it is trying to break free within the darkness of the human mind. Although a Higher Will provides an opportunity to awaken, this event is not assured. The awakening process arises from the conflict created by the independent human identity and the deep desire to find life’s meaning. Your desire for consciousness is the beginning of another episode in the implementation of a Higher Will. Your primary concern is to align with something higher than you and allow it to demonstrate its intentions in your life.

A spark of energy gave birth to a Universe and its billions of stars and planets. Within this Universe, natural rhythms pulsate with an ebb and flow of light, darkness, life, and death. The particles of matter broke free then reconciled into new celestial bodies such as the Solar System and the planet Earth, where you exist right now as a semiconscious living organism. Once this original force of will expressed itself with your life, you became part of an entirely new Universe. This mysterious place exists right now within you.

A Grand Design

From the first spark of the light of the Universe to the first spark of the human essence, there seems to be a Grand Design. Albert Einstein’s dream was to discover the Grand Design of the Universe, a single theory that explains everything. The Grand Design is the eternal process of life. Whether you call this an intelligent design or the evolving process of nature, it is observable and magnificent! The splendor of the intertwined light and darkness of the Cosmos is the source of life. Limitations within the human experience are also part of this design. The human experience causes consciousness followed by suffering; life followed by death. The mechanics of life causes a kingdom of atoms to cling together into molecules, which then flourish into an illusion of reality. The higher force of will that motivates the molecules wants you to learn that the illusory world of form cannot satisfy you. Just as atoms are the precursor to molecules, the world of form is not a final result.

Your life flowed out of a Grand Design. The Grand Design is the living algorithm of the Cosmos, and you are its offspring. You were born incomplete with an opportunity to become whole, but this requires a transformation to take place. Some people in the spiritual or self-help community often refer to this as an awakening. You cannot awaken until you recognize the subtle forces trying to guide you. For a better understanding of this guidance, one only needs to look to the Cosmos.
