About this ebook
Imprisoned by the Demon Witch, Rayea must participate in the Blood Games. If she survives with her nine lives intact, she will be set free. For a vampire from Hell, that shouldn't be a big deal. But there's only one problem. Rayea is no longer a vampire. She's a sassy black cat.

Chapter 1 – Are You Hungry? (Rayea)
It was one of those conversations you never dreamed you’d be involved in. What’s going to be our niche, Raven?
Every time Sebastian called me by the wrong name, I wanted to scream.
I think we’ll go with a talking cat. Okay, Raven?
Sebastian continued to swish through options on his phone. His obsession with the Rickety Rock video app drove me nuts, and I wanted to smash his phone if at all possible. Ohhh, look at all those likes! This is great, Raven,
he beamed as he shoved the phone in my cat face. This latest video got a ton of likes! Isn’t that awesome? All I have to do though is figure out why. Was it the time of day I posted it? Was it the outfit I dressed you up in? Or was it some other reason we don’t know of yet? There has to be a way to figure this out. I tell you if I could get as many followers as the others, I’d be set. That Edgar cat and the one called Snuggleton, they are idiots. And the voices their owners use for them, it’s so lame. I want my videos to be better. And you are going to help me, Raven or you don’t get to go back to reality anytime soon.
‘Oh, I’ll be going back to reality, buddy,’ I thought. ‘Just as soon as I figure a way out of this freak show.’ Truly, I wanted to rip Sebastian’s head open and spit a large hairball down his throat or better yet, stuff my furry paws up his nostrils and simply wait for him to go limp.
Of course, that wasn’t very ladylike of me, now was it? Not that I was a lady or a human or a vampire presently. I was a cat. I know. What the hell, if I may say it that way? I’m sure you’re thinking that. But yes, I was a very calm, domestic furry feline. I’m sure you already figured that out, but I still can’t get over it. Four legs, four paws, the ears, tail, all of it. Oh my god and the whiskers that touch everything. The tickling sensation they generate in me sends shivers down my spine. It took a while to get used to that because it feels like your whiskers are antennas, wanting to zero in on everything around them. I often felt as if I had some type of cat radar whirling around my neck that guided me. I’m going on. I’ll stop now. All of this was because of the Demon Witch who put me here. Wherever here was.
It still escaped me who the Demon Witch really was. Oftentimes she looked like Blick’s grandmother, but, at other times, she didn’t. When her golden eyes shifted to a jet black and her face formed into that of a living skull with black hollow eyes and rigid bones jutting under thin flesh, I knew she had her demon mode on. In my delicate cat form, I was essentially powerless to destroy her. It was also why I had no choice but allow Sebastian to dress me up in stupid outfits and record my movements, or lack of, for his videos. More importantly, I had to figure out a way to perform an exorcism on Blick’s grandmother. I couldn’t kill her weeks before the wedding. I sighed. Would I make it to the wedding?
That was another dilemma I had yet to resolve. I couldn’t exactly show up as a small black cat, now could I? I’m rambling again, so we’ll save that for now.
As I grew used to my surroundings, as best I could, I decided to stay out of the Demon Witch’s line of sight. Sebastian had taken a fondness to me, so I hung out in his shadow. His constantly offering me food certainly kept my interest because as a cat, I had a ferocious appetite. My motivation, however, didn’t seem to exist. I was quite content to stay on the couch Sebastian regularly placed me on and eat tasty morsels. Figuring out an escape plan did not enter my thoughts most days.
These videos are really popular, it looks like. I think we need to dress you up in some cuter outfits. What do you say, Raven? I’ll have to work on your voice though. We don’t have many filters on this thing, and I really don’t like your voice. But don’t worry. I’ll figure out something. You have to have a cute voice since you don’t have that cute of a face. I’m not sure what Uncle Blick sees in you at all. Oh well, it’s fine. I’ll figure it all out.
‘I’m going to murder you in your sleep, Sebastian,’ I thought. ‘I’m going to sit on your chest like a succubus and slowly drain the life force from you, one droplet of blood at a time. Watch me, buddy.’
Oh Raven, are you hungry? Let me pick a new flavor. Hang on.
If cats could roll their eyes like humans, I would have been doing a lot of that. Instead, I tried my best not to watch as Sebastian skated to another room that remained out of my vision. He rode a skateboard everywhere he went it seemed. I wasn’t sure why. He reminded me of a beach bum without the beach. I guessed his height at about 5 feet or just over. His black hair was cut short, almost military style. I thought of the older obnoxious brother from the 1985 Weird Science movie, the one who finally got turned into a mutant blob thing. Chet was his name. You may know that one I’m referring to. If not, it’s fine. We can skip it.
When Sebastian showed back up and shoved a bowl of delicious morsels under my nose as I lounged on the couch, I forgot all about his appearance or antics, even my current situation or the notion to escape. Instead, I drifted off into the world of heavenly warm, tender food that I gulped up in small smacking bites as I gleefully purred. I knew more of this repeating ritual was right around the corner if I wanted it. And I prayed it was.
Later, without a care in the world, I let Sebastian dress me up like some kind of prison-happy kitty with a bowtie contraption around my neck as he took an eternity videotaping me. If it allowed me to be free of my collar for a few hours, that was fine by me. He had some type of song clip that continued going on and on about ‘when you double the bows, you double the power,’ so I assumed that explained the bow contraption. But I dismissed it. I merely waited for another round of delicious beasty feast cat food. It was the best solution I could come up with. You can roll your eyes at me at this point. It’s totally okay. I’d object to it if I cared. But somehow as a cat, I simply don’t. Go figure.
Chapter 2 - Midnight Call (Rayea)
Sometime after midnight, I noticed a glow coming from the table next to the couch. Lovingly, Sebastian had made a heated bed for me at the far corner of the couch where I could rest my head. I wasn’t sure what was wrong with my thermostat, but as a cat, my body temperature ran rather cold. It was the exact opposite to my vampire self. Having fire powers enabled me to maintain an ongoing warmth that I had obviously taken for granted. Now I stayed cold unless I stayed on the couch next to Sebastian.
The ongoing chiming had brought me out of my slumber, but I didn’t want to investigate the noise. I was so warm in my bed that I wanted to roll over and return to my dreams. Then I realized I hadn’t had any real dreams lately other than dreaming about food. Were my blood dreams a thing of the past? Was being a vampire no longer possible? It certainly felt like it was.
The chiming continued, so I decided to investigate.
When I leaned over and stared into the glowing surface, I figured out what the small box was. It was Sebastian’s phone. Or maybe it was my phone? ‘Where was my phone these days?’ I wondered for a moment. Then as quickly as the thought had entered my brain, it disappeared. As I heard another chime and a whoosh sound come from the phone, I peered in and saw faces staring back at me.
My god, Rayea? Is that you?
It is her! Lynn, you found her! This is great!
One curly redhead waved at me emphatically while the other girl with short strawberry blond hair clattered away on a
