A Spotlight for Attention to the Word of God

My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings. Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart.  For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh (Proverbs 4:20-22 Amp).

The Word of God is tangible—it IS something and it DOES something. The Word is a person, Jesus Christ, who is at work performing the Will of God, the Father. Whatever the need, the answer is in the Word of God. The Word is the answer and the Word does the answer.

During a time in Evelyn’s life of great trial (rejection, hurt, disregard, discard, lack, depression, displacement), she went to the Word of God for relief. As she was studying Psalm 119, God gave her a deep revelation about the Word. His revelations were so profound; she began to write and categorize them.

The purpose for writing this book is to share what God exposed, and continues to reveal, by listing what the WORD IS and what the WORD DOES. When we know the significance of the Word of God (what it IS and what it DOES), we can focus our attention on it and use it effectively.

Are you using the Word or just reading it? Do you need a guide to live by? The intention of this book is to present the active workings of the Word so that we may live by the material, although unseen, Word of God. It is a tool and a reference for life application.

"The Spirit of God uses the Word of God to make us like the Son of God. To become like Jesus, we must fill our lives with his Word. The Bible says, ‘Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us.’ God’s Word is unlike any other word. It is alive. When God speaks, things change. Everything around you—all of creation—exists because ‘God said it.’ He spoke it all into existence. Without God’s Word you would not even be alive. James points out, ‘God decided to give us life through the Word of truth so we might be the most important of all the things He made.’ The Bible is far more than a doctrinal guidebook.
