As he stood in line at the coffee shop, Adrian felt a buzz of anxious energy filling him. He could barely think straight—he'd seen the policeman in line in front of him and had been watching him out of the corner of his eye ever since. The man was tall and broad-shouldered, with a strong jaw and piercing blue eyes that seemed to see right through him. Adrian's palms were sweating as he rehearsed the conversation in his head.
