About this ebook

Eva is a woman of Italian origins. For working reasons she travels between Milan, Turin and Rome, and lives a life full of affection, love, inspirations but also violence and serious problems.

From a disastrous marriage she has her wonderful children, and from the rubble of her union Eva is able to rebuild a life, first of all for herself, for her children, and then for the people she loves. Suddenly, an extraordinary transcendent gift transfigures her life: visions, premonitions, sensations, out-of-body encounters become parts of her everyday life. From this situation she draws strength, love for herself and for others, to whom she gives freely whatever her talents indicate to do for the best of humanity.

A direct and passionate book for all those who believe that life has an end, those without hope, those abandoning their personal struggle: Eva wants to convey a simple message by referring to Marlo Thomas's children's song "Free to be you and me". Free to be and to simply live without violence, malice, suffering, war, diversity, discrimination, everything that divides the great community we all live in, what we usually call World.

These are two quotes by Nelson Mandela that for Eva are of great inspiration:
“Your freedom and mine cannot be divided. You cannot divide freedom."
“A good mind and a good heart are a formidable combination.”

Eva has always been convinced that these two combinations, intelligence, mind, thinking, working on oneself and a good heart show things from a different perspective and, if used, can change the world without limiting other people’s freedom.

We can and we must go forward: but only for Love.

Any action can lead a man to supreme wisdom

as long as he does it with Love.

    Paulo Coelho

On a beautiful September day, the 17th, when the hot summer days give way to colorful autumn and life resumes its ordinary rhythms, the great love that was bounding Greta to Elia finally brought its very first and most beautiful fruit: Eva, their first daughter.

Greta and Elia were just nineteen, full of hopes and happy prospects but, above all, they were full of their crazy love.

They decided that this was going to be their daughter’s name: the name of the first woman, progenitor of all of us, the one who perhaps better than anyone else represents both good and evil, the one who was created perfect and then became imperfect because of her own will.

Eva was not a household name: Greta belonged to a matriarchal family, a solid, very traditional southern family, with a very strict and authoritative mother. But Greta got the chance to break the mold, she had loved Elia and so Eva came down from heaven. Greta had a strong personality and was determined to live her own life the way she wanted. Also Elia had a strong character. He was an air force military, while Greta was a teacher at primary school. Greta and Elia lived in a city in southern Italy and, little by little, with their own strength, they were able to get everything they needed for their home and also for Eva. Their life went on in an orderly and very satisfying way: they were highly esteemed by all the people who knew them, full of high values which were reflected in all their actions. They were the friends and neighbors that everyone would have liked to have, the ideal colleagues, the friends who can remain friends for a lifetime.

Eva had a wonderful childhood; her parents loved each other very much, the atmosphere at home was very nice.

Even though her parents were both working, Eva had their full attention. She was a very precocious child, very curious: she used to make a lot of questions, she wanted to understand everything. How that object or that mechanism worked, why they worked in that way. In short, her little head was always crowded with a thousand whys to ask, and her parents gladly answered her, welcoming their precocious little girl's abilities and making her happy with their answers and with their care.

The situation was excellent also with their relatives and family friends: they used to spend holidays and vacations together, always in an affectionate and joyful atmosphere. The only shadow were the recurring episodes of inflammation of the respiratory tract from which Eva was suffering: unfortunately this problem had arisen and it could also have become chronic. Greta always paid great attention in checking on her daughter, all her zeal in giving her all the medicines prescribed by doctors... but the problem persisted and became more and more annoying. Unfortunately, this throat problem also affected her appetite and Eva started suffering a slight delay in growth: she didn't eat enough and therefore her little body wasn't developing as it should.

Years went by, but the situation did not improve: so they were suggested to take Eva, now a teenager, to live as close as possible to the sea.

Elia took matters into his own hands and bought a piece of land near the seaside and started building a second home for his family. They would travel there very often during the year and live permanently there during the summer months. Eva will always remember her father building the house, brick after brick, and her mother taking care of her and the other two sisters who had arrived in the meantime, Rebecca and Cloe.

This contact with the sea, with this strength that would accompany her throughout her life, those years of happiness lived in that house will forever mark Eva's existence: precisely because of this experience, Eva will always love the sea and will always consider it of a vital importance.

Elia built a large garden with benches, flowers of every color and fruit trees which he used to look after with his wife. He also built a beautiful swing, where his daughters used to compete with other children of the neighborhood to reach the highest possible point: they gave each other big pushes to be able to fly higher and higher. They also happily spent many hours outdoors in the garden, playing hide and seek. These episodes were always very important parts in Eva's memory, the best possible comfort, the memory of a peaceful and carefree life, but above all full of love and mutual respect.

Elia loved sports and had many hobbies: he liked sport cars – and he had many- and also motorcycles. He often used to take Eva with him on reckless and very amusing rides.

Elia also liked hunting and fishing: in short, he was never bored.

Greta instead seemed to always have a forty-eight hour day: she sewed, cooked, studied at university, participated in competitions to gain an important position in the business world and, after many sacrifices, she finally succeeded. During the summer not only was she busy looking after her family and the house, but she also used to spend a lot of time giving private lessons.

Well, it certainly could not be said that they were a couple without interests and aspirations, they were always animated by something to do or a goal to reach.

Their life together began at a very young age for both, and their choices kept them away from their families: they were used to solving problems at home, without turning to anyone, giving each other mutual support and giving their daughter all the necessary care.

Pope Francis affirms that the family is the first building block of a healthy society: Elia and Greta seemed to already know this and worked hard to ensure that theirs was a healthy and happy family.

Eva's life was divided between the winter months, when she attended school and lived in the city, and the spring months, when she started going to the beach house more and more often. For the summer months, however, the whole family moved there and Eva used to spend the most beautiful moments of her life in that house.
