The woman stood on the cottage terrace with her hands on the railing. She watched the setting sun, an orange ball coming down to the water’s edge on the horizon.

The lake was gorgeous. It reeked of age-old tranquility. The smooth water surface was surrounded by granite rocks covered with pine forests. In the distance, the outlines of sandy beaches with piers for boats could be seen. Behind the beaches and harbors, one could see the shapes of other buildings near the water - saunas, gazebos, and cottages.

Fall had already painted the crowns of the trees red and yellow, and the evening sun was adding color to the picture. Golden fall was in full swing. Giant pine trees surrounded the bay with its sandy beach and boat dock. The sun’s glare played in the drops of water left after the rain on the pine needles.

The ball of the sun was getting bigger and bigger as it came down. Finally, the sun touched the lake’s water on the horizon but could not fit into the lake.
