About this ebook

Candles, as instruments of illumination with esoteric and ritual sense, have returned in recent years to reclaim the leading role they once had. Lighting a candle is a ritual, where traditions that speak of spell and spells are combined, from the tenderness of an evening by candlelight, through a simple bath under the relaxing effect of the special light of a few candles. The flames of candles radiate mystical powers and, for centuries, sorcerers, seers and fortune tellers have used them as space-creating instruments appropriate for their spells or to make predictions.

The Tarot is an ancient practice, a path by which we begin understanding towards oneself, towards our sacred interior. The Tarot is an oracle, a means, by which, in some way, and through its drawings and colors, we stimulate our psychic sphere, the deepest part that goes beyond the rational.

When we move the cards, a secret and powerful mechanism is put into operation, to open doors and means that connect us to the Universe. The Tarot is full of secrets, wonderful and powerful symbolisms that go beyond a great pictorial work. The magic, clairvoyance, or however you want to define it in you, will awaken little by little, as you practice and enter the intimate world of each card.

However, a magical ritual with candles is not unique to sorcerers and sorcerers since everyone has performed at some point in their lives a ritual with candles, without realizing it.

Light and candles are synonymous with peace and shelter. Rituals where candles are used show the way to the unconscious and animate it. Candles are effective in relaxing, help with meditation and empower us to contact our inner being.

Using candles, we can protect ourselves, and protect others against any evil, face jealousy, pettiness, discord, resentment, hatred, depression, sadness, dangers, and violence.

    A bit of history

A picture containing linedrawing Description automatically generated

The origin of candles goes back to the history of fire itself, but it is impossible to know exactly when candles began to be used and how they were made in the past. Through historical data we have known that the Etruscans used sebum mixed with wax, which they wrapped around a wick obtained from the marrow of a stem of a plant.

Verifying which were the first civilizations to create and use candles as we know them today, as well as the primitive purpose for which they were produced is difficult. There are texts that confirm that the ancient priests of the Celtic civilization taught their successors inside the illuminated caves and used light in ritual celebrations dedicated to their gods.

In the Hebrew world, candles are of vital importance since the main symbol of the Jewish people was the Menorah, a seven-branched candlestick.

In Rome, the candle, called cerus, was composed of a reed marrow immersed in beeswax. The word candela is derived from the Latin candere, which means to shine. Lamps were often used for illumination, but candles were frequently used for religious purposes. Candles were used as instruments of devotion in the catacombs of ancient Rome, but some philosophers saw the use of candles as a dangerous evocation of paganism.

In Christianity there are testimonies of the use of candles around the third century AD, in rituals such as baptisms and funeral processions. In ancient France, candles made with beeswax were used. In the Middle Ages, in Asia, candles made with animal fat were used, at this stage the candles represented a new incentive in the development of esotericism, In the eighteenth century they began to be made with paraffin, solid fatty acid and occasionally with beeswax, hydrogenated animal fats and other components.

Reasons why we light a candle.

A picture containing linedrawing Description automatically generated

The reasons that lead each person to use a candle are impossible to determine since there are many.

Establishing the motives is difficult, but we can say that all of us seek an answer beyond the physical world. All human beings seek guidance and light, something higher in which to believe we have Faith, and to be able to ask for.

Light has always been the bond that connects man and God, and in primitive civilizations fire represented an element that symbolized spirituality and the transformative energy of nature.

Fire and light are the two elements that we find in a candle, a tool created by man to give meaning to his own life and forge his destiny.

Lighting candles is part of the genetic heritage of us humans, and not even the most eminent scientists in the history of humankind have been able to prove that God or another spiritual being does not exist, and, in our universe, there are still many unanswered questions, and inexplicable enigmas.

In general, most civilizations have based their knowledge on the use of fire and its different functions. Rustic sticks with grease were transited to the use of torches with resin, and then the bonfires were fanned with wood. Subsequently, the Egyptians, Assyrians, Phoenicians, Greeks, and Romans used the oil as fuel.

    The Language of Candles

A picture containing linedrawing Description automatically generated

Candles speak in their own language, through their shapes when burned, they convey countless messages about events that can happen immediately or in the long term.

    -  When a candle produces sparks, it indicates that the weather is wet.

    -  If you have trouble lighting the candle, your spiritual environment is dirty or overloaded with bad energetic vibrations.

    -  If the candle when lit has excess smoke indicates it is not able to respond. It also means that the person is full of doubts and that times and circumstances are coming when it will be mandatory to take distance from things before moving forward.

    -  If the wick splits in two, it means that you are not being clear with what you ask for or that you have little faith.

    -  If the wick is very bright you will be lucky in what you ask.

    -  If the candle cries a lot, it means that conflicts will appear so that what you ask for is fulfilled.

    -  If the candle goes out it means that the most difficult part of your order will be fulfilled, but that there is something that you personally must do.

    -  If the candle is consumed or burned to perfection it means that what you have asked for will be fully fulfilled.

    -  If the flame of the candle oscillates without a justified cause that stimulates its movement, such as air, it means that a change in the circumstances of your life is approaching.

If you use more than one candle, these are the meanings:

    -  If one of the candles is burning and the flame is high and bright it means that good luck will come.

    -  If the flame of the candle falls up and down many times, it means a danger.

    -  If the tip of the wick of the candle, from which the flame is born, becomes bright, it means resounding success. If the brightness lasts for a long time, success will be widespread. If it disappears soon, success will be short-lived.

    -  If the flame of the candle burns slowly and is short, it means that all our projects will be a failure.

    -  If the flame of a candle has a spiral movement, or spins, it means that we must be careful with the people around us because they can lie to us or conspire against us.

    -  If the flame of the candle sizzles it means that very soon, we will suffer disappointment or disappointment.

    -  If a candle flame goes out suddenly, it means a loss of family or job.

    -  If the candle flame goes out and there is no air, it means that we must change our goals.

Meaning of the Colors of the Flame of a Candle

A picture containing linedrawing Description automatically generated

Azul: It means that the mentality of the person we are including in our ritual will receive our message.

Yellow: It means that we are high energy, and that the person we are working on the ritual rejects our energy.

    Red:  It means quick results.

White: It means that there are angels or beings from other dimensions that will help you in your requests.

Note: If the flame of the candle has two colors, you must join the meanings before the mentioned.

    Meaning of the Wax Shape

A picture containing linedrawing Description automatically generated

Interpreting the shape of the candle wax helps us to know how our ritual is working. When the wax is consumed it forms silhouettes, profiles, or strokes at the bottom of the container that is placed. To interpret the remains of a candle it is essential that you leave your mind blank, that you observe them calmly and allow your subconscious to define the meaning.

    -  If the wax forms a pile of tears on the sides, you must observe carefully and perhaps observe an angelic figure. In these cases, the result of the ritual will be positive.

    -  If the wax forms on the sides some spiked or pointed structures, like spikes signific that many setbacks are coming and that there are energies opposed to our desires.

    -  In the container or base the wax forms figures like bunches of grapes. This means that everything is fine and that in your way comes a lot of prosperity and avalanches.

    -  In the container containing the candle, or at the base, faces or silhouettes of animals are formed. This means that we do not have little vitality.

    -  In the container or base that we have the candle some pieces that are shaped like a Moon were detached. If the tips of the Moon are facing the left side it means that there are external forces helping us, and very soon we will get a result or an answer. If the tips of the Moon tilt to the right something is sabotaging our request is.

    -  If we find remains of the candle outside the container the meaning depends on the type of ritual or request, you have made. You must look carefully at the piece, and you will surely receive a message and you will have the ability to sense if the piece that came off is positive or negative. In rituals against the evil eye, observe if what was detached or represents evil things, since it means that the evil is being broken. On the other hand, in normal forms, the meaning is the opposite. In short, if the wax symbolizes something good it means that everything is going well, but if what was detached has an unpleasant appearance, something is
