Introduction
Be sure in reading this book that you don’t go past any words or symbols that you don’t fully understand. Look them up in a good dictionary or a music dictionary.
I’m a believer in figuring things out on your own. When you do, you actually learn the subject and know it. The way I structured this book is that I give you what you need on each subject, so that you can use that to figure out the subject. That way, you can apply it to your favorite music, and you can learn it for real.

Buying a Guitar
Types of Guitars
Well, the first thing that you want to know is, what type of music do you want to play? That will determine the type of guitar you should get. If you want to play classical music, then you should get a classical guitar. A classical guitar is an acoustic guitar with a wide neck and nylon strings. An acoustic guitar is different from an electric guitar, mainly because it provides its own sound. The strings vibrate, causing sound to enter the body of the guitar, and then the sound comes back out louder. An electric guitar has pickups on it that pick up the sound and send it through a guitar cord to an amplifier. Most electric guitars are solid body, but some are semi-hollow, and some are almost acoustic. But they all have pickups. You can get a pickup for an acoustic guitar also. Some acoustic guitars have a pickup already installed. There are obviously a lot of
