About this ebook
Following the death of his mother, Erzo Traliz, finds himself walking the broken, racist, streets of the slums tired, and hungry. All the while, unsure of who he is without her. He wants to survive just like any other twelve-year-old boy, which means his hands might get a little sticky. People simply do not miss what they do not know is missing. This includes even the lowest quality of food. But what about high-quality food? Would they still miss it?
Unfortunately, a certain someone believes to think so as those sticky fingers soon wrap themselves around a situation where death's door comes knocking. Happy to still be breathing, Erzo convinces himself the only path forward is revenge and violence to get what he wants.
Maybe a little bit of magic can go a long way. But is revenge the answer?

Revenge is sweet when you have the power to inflict more pain than that was given.
It’s even sweeter if you have the capacity to withhold your power to balance the pain.

THE DIRTY COBBLESTONE street was lined with cheaply made food carts on either side. Every fruit, breadstick, and vegetable on display was noticeably spotted with black moldy holes. Each wobbly step Erzo took, made his stomach growl for even the most questionable items. Rows of decaying, multicolored cheeses he spotted from the cheese stand at the corner of his eye were still considered. A constant and unfortunate reminder that he had not eaten for a couple of days.
