PREFACE
The Luba people are monotheistic and have a religious, philosophical paradigm named Bumuntu meant to be a guide on how to live harmoniously with your fellow human beings in accordance with the will of God. It was revealed to them by God through his prophets and messengers of old. Bumuntu knows several virtues and vices, and if a person managed to lead a virtuous life free of any vices, or strives to do so, then he or she is a Muntu (a genuine, authentic human being with a good heart) which is in contrast to a Kintu (a ‘thing’; immoral, wicked individual having a bad heart). The authority of Bumuntu is God; God is the one who revealed it to the Luba people and God is the one who defined ethics, morality, norms and
