First and foremost, I would like to give God all the honor and praise for making me capable of writing and finishing this book. Next, I would like to thank my wife for her selfless contributions to my life. She is the one who stopped by me through my highs and lows, the one who taught me to see the world beyond brutality and hatred, and the one who pulled her faith up when everyone had turned hopeless about my situation. To date, I’m still a firm believer in the fact that her request for prayers was the reason I survived that day.
I’ll be forever indebted to the prayer warriors who wished me a speedy recovery.
A big hug to my Uncle William Scott, an eternal optimist and a great man of God, who, when the doctors gave me up to die, told me that I would not only survive but I would walk again.
I also wish to extend my deep gratitude to Pastor Larry Palmer, who I used to visit at a church in Orangeburg, South Carolina, and who prophesied that I would write not one but several books. Thank you, Pastor, for visiting me in the hospital and reassuring me that I would not only be healed but healed better than ever. Indeed, you were right.

About the Author
Anthony Scott is the brother of Walter Scott and a justice activist who is leading theagenda to eradicate the murder of blacks at the hands of police officers and fight for justice in the US courts, starting in his hometown, Charleston, South Carolina. He is most known for being the spokesman for the Scott family following the tragic murder of his brother Walter by police in 2015. After suffering from the devastating pain of losing his brother to an act of brutality, he experienced Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). It was the time when he realized that one could go through PTSD even if one hadn’t been in the war, as dealing with grief is a war in itself. Hence, the prolonged grieving period, aggravated by not getting the necessary help, pushed Anthony to undergo a near-death experience.
Fortunately, he finally decided to escape from the vicious memories of the past that were consuming his insides and spoke with his therapist to begin his healing journey. During this time, he began to slowly understand that trauma brings grief and that getting help sets oneself free from the claws of misery and unhealed trauma. He believes that it does not matter what we are grieving from, we must take the steps necessary to put ourselves on the path of healing and to get past the traumatic happening.
Anthony's ability to remain undeterred and speak truth to power while effectively seeking justice through peace and law resulted in the police officer who murdered his brother getting convicted and sent to prison.
Anthony is using his voice and indomitable spirit to challenge judges, mayors, policymakers, prosecutors, police, congress, civil rights activists, and attorneys to uphold the United States Declaration of Independence that holds that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

My name is Anthony Scott, and this is the story where I slay my Dragon.
I am the eldest in a family comprised of three siblings, my Mama and my Daddy. We grew up when Charleston, in the era of the sixties, was a city facing the brunt of the civil rights movement. Speeches raising awareness, awareness rose the hands of rioters and with rioters bloomed misunderstandings and violence, such was the state of America. It was a state where men turned against men based on little misunderstandings and quarrels.
