With his wavy jet-black hair, and piercing deep blue eyes, he drew women by the droves. When Gisela saw him up close, she wasn't surprised to see him a bit older and more mature than the last time they met.  She could not prevent herself from gaping. Not that she would mean anything to him again.

She was irritated that he had charmed her when he walked into the section of the stadium where she was parked to get a nice view of the awards ceremony. Her business partner, Fernando, had just beaten the Spaniard for the coveted Grand Prix Motorcycle Championships, and she was happy for him.

The short, formal ceremony took place under high media coverage, and as soon as it started, Fernando came sprinting away from their team to where she stood.

On his arrival, Fernando’s emotional outpouring burst forth like an erupting volcano, I could not have won the championships without your support! Come with me?

Smiling into her eyes, Fernando stepped away before putting an arm around her shoulders and walking towards the podium. As they approached the stage, Álvaro José Sabella addressed the media after receiving his second-place award. Gisela stayed away from the cameras so that Fernando was solely the center of attention when he received his trophy.

Just as Álvaro sidled away from the crowd, he absently glanced at the people on and around the small stage before his gaze locked on the curvaceous woman wearing a cap, leading him to think she was a staff member. and not part of the contingent of winners. He had no idea what it was that drew him to look at her. She wasn't a fantastic beauty, but when their eyes met, a shred of awareness ping-ponged between them.

Gisela’s heart lurched when their gazes clashed. Swallowing the surprise, she broke their transfixed gape when she turned away to speak with the man to her right. She had to get a grip; he was no longer part of her world.

Grimacing in dismay at the jolt of sexual awareness when his eyes alighted on the woman, Álvaro shook himself before he walked off the podium and headed out with his crew.

He called out to his men in rapid-fire Catalan, Anem rapid! Ara!

Álvaro, aren’t you going to the banquet? his mechanic Sánchez returned in their native tongue as he sped up to his employer.

I didn't win the trophy, so what’s the point? If he went, he would only be unhappy about his loss to a newcomer. The windy conditions played a part in his performance but damn it; he thought he had it in the bag. Where did he go wrong?

Boss, you should go. How can we go without you? Plus, it’s been a while since you had a woman, eh? Sánchez tried again because the rest of the crew would not go if Álvaro did not.

Álvaro gritted his teeth and cursed under his breath; the guys surely knew his lack of a love life for the past few months.

Fine! We’ll go. I might as well have some fun.

And his fun would be to bed
