Detective Jane
By Brayden M Stickney
This book is dedicated to my dad and mom.
Prologue
In the silence of the night, an assailant crept through the night, vigilantly watching. Waiting for the right time to strike. He soon remembered his nemesis.
Creeping, creeping, slowly through the town. Until the assailant got where he was going. Now we are even,
he said as something fluttered out of his hand…
Chapter 1
The Mystery
One day in the state of Michigan in Spring. I was tending to my garden with peas, carrots, potatoes, etc. (Let me introduce myself. My name is Mrs. Jane.) Then Sam Wesley (My friend) came by.
He said, Have you heard the news about Mr. Manson’s haunted house?
I said, No.
Sam continued, Mr. Manson got killed last night at his house. Now the police are investigating there. Mrs. Manson went to Wenyu’s Funeral Home nearby. I thought you might want to investigate Mr. Manson's house since it's haunted. And because you like mysteries.
So, I responded with, I’ll think about it.
As soon as I said that, my dog Chippy started barking. So, I excused myself and went to see why he was barking. Sam went on his way too. I found Chippy at my gate barking at a dog across the street. So, I put Chippy in his dog house for a while and thought about investigating Mr. Manson’s house.
At dinnertime, I headed over to Hamm’s Hut to see if Sam was there. I found him sitting down. So I sat down too. I told him I would go and investigate Mr. Manson's house.
Sam said, "I’m glad for you. Thanks
