Akane and The Time Machine (Light Novel) - Yellow Egg
Chapter 1: New Discovery
Akane Takahashi stood in front of her grandfather's old workshop, staring at the rusted metal door. She had spent countless hours in this room as a child, watching her grandfather tinker with machines and dreaming of one day following in his footsteps. But it had been years since she had set foot inside, until she get a letter from her grandfather.
Now, as a college student studying engineering, Akane felt drawn back to the workshop. She had heard rumors that her grandfather had left behind a secret project, one that he had been working on in his final years but had never completed. Akane was determined to find out what it was.
With a deep breath, she pushed open the door and stepped inside. The room was dusty and cluttered with tools and machines, but in the far corner, Akane spotted a large object covered in a tarp. She approached it cautiously, her heart racing with anticipation.
As she lifted the tarp, she gasped in surprise. It was a time machine.
Akane had heard rumors of time machines before, but she had always dismissed them as science fiction. But now, standing in front of this intricate machine, she couldn't deny that it looked real. It was made of polished metal and had an array of buttons and dials, with a circular portal in the center.
For a moment, Akane hesitated. Was it safe to even touch the machine? What if she accidentally activated it and ended up in some unknown time period? But her curiosity got the better of her, and she reached out to touch one of the buttons.
Suddenly, the room around her dissolved into a blur of light and color, and Akane felt a rush of wind in her face. When the motion stopped, she found herself standing in a different room, surrounded by unfamiliar objects.
It took a moment for her to realize that she was standing in a room in Edo period Japan.
Akane looked down at her clothes and saw that she was now dressed in a kimono. She glanced around the room and saw that it was furnished with traditional Japanese items, like a low table and a tatami mat floor.
At that moment, Akane heard a knock at the door. She froze, wondering who it could be. Slowly, she made her way to the door and opened it.
Standing outside was a man with a long beard and a kind smile. Ah, you must be the new assistant,
he said. My name is Hokusai, and I am an artist. Welcome to my workshop.
Akane was stunned. She had heard of Hokusai before - he was a famous artist from the Edo period, known for his ukiyo-e prints. Was this really happening?
As she stepped into the workshop, Akane realized that she had traveled back in time. And she had no idea how to get back to her own time.
Chapter 2: Time Traveler's Apprentice
Akane sat in front of the time machine, staring at it in awe. She had just returned from her first trip through time, and the experience was beyond anything she could
