'Where could it be?', I said out loud while searching my messy bedroom.

It has to be somewhere here, I thought as I knelt and looked under the bed, feeling for the familiar shape of the wheels and engine under the dark and crowded bed.

Could it be somewhere on the bookshelf?

I mean, my books were set in all directions. Anything could be hidden on those over-flowing shelves.

After checking under the sheets and holding my nose as I waded through a pile of stinky laundry, I came to the conclusion that my precious model train was not in my bedroom.

Notice I said model train and not toy train. The train that is missing is a scaled replica of a famous steam engine train; the... ahh? I just can't remember the train it was named after.

Anyway, it was one of the most special trains that Grandpa Edwin had in his collection. I can still remember the day he gave it to me...
